Re: My Own Game!
Yeah man, build the project you want to build. I mean, look at Dwarf Fortress. I'd say their project is doing pretty well, all things considered, and they don't give two shits about peasant concerns such as "difficulty" and "learning curve." :P I'm not really much of an artist so...

Any time ^^
I like that idea a lot since it prevents things from getting too complicated, but at the same time it remains true to realism.
Don't hesitate to ask if there's anything else. I really can't wait to see how this project grows.

Re: Beards
I think you guys may be on to something. When I got out of school I did some outreach bullshiznit in China. Since I was out of school I decided to grow my beard properly for the first time ever. At the time there was a really long drought going on in the Yunnan province which lasted like 6 months. A...

Re: My Own Game!
I hate to be THAT guy and go on topic, but I read up a bit on muscle memory. @Toxicron, muscle memory is literally memory stored in your brain, but fortunately it's not as basic as just adding an "XP" type effect for specific tasks. Turns out if you repetitively make mistakes you can also ...

Re: My Own Game!
I'm studying biomedical sciences so I don't mind trying to offer information where I can. It helps me memorize the stuff for exams :P I'm not 100% certain about muscle memory, but I can explain muscle fatigue. Muscle fatigue can be caused by insufficient blood supply, ion imbalances and the accumula...

Re: My Own Game!
Yay :D Blood clotting would be a very interesting process to see. Only suggestion I can think of there is a means of taking blood calcium levels into account since a lot of your clotting factors in both the intrinsic and extrinsic clotting mechanisms won't become activated without the presence of ca...

Re: My Own Game!
Wow, that's pretty damn thorough. Well done! I don't know much about programming and how much one can optimize usage of your computer's resources, but another variable that covers quite a lot of areas is intracranial pressure since it could indicate all kinds of things from head trauma to bacterial/...

Re: Confession
It is made from yeast extract. ie. the gubky crap left over after you brew beer. The native american peoples used to kill bison and other animals. They would use every part of the bison in all sorts of ways. They would take the fur and make clothes; take the horns and make cups and weapon points; a...

Re: Beer O'clock
I just woke up and had what we call in Afrikaans a "regmaak dop." That's your mistake. You don't fight a hangover, you just delay it. Unless you're out of beer. Then you just need to face the music.

Realizing that I have no idea what I'm doing, I turn to the ancient philosophy of "Meh" and in a moment of insanity I attempt to magically fuse the blade lodged in my arm with my arm thus being left with an awesome blade arm thing.

Re: Roll to dodge forum game
I finally wake up from my epic nap. Seeing the bodies around I get up and, being too lazy to walk to the weapon rack, attempt to throw a dead legionnaire's helmet at one of the other legionnaires.

Slaves of Armok: God of Blood. Want to know why? Because FUCK AIN'T THAT SHIT HARD WHEN YOU TRY TO PLAY WITH AVERAGE SKILLS AND HAVE A GOOD FIGHT TO PLEASE ARMOK! How is it? This looks awesome, Toxiciron! I can't wait to see how this project will turn out. Exactly what do you intend to simulate relating to physiology? Just the basic homeostatic mechanisms or are you trying to make it as complex as possible (Increased blood loss if major arteries are severed, nerve damag...
