I agree, the grade of the weapons and armor isn't going to improve simply because you looked at a diagram. That being said, it should be a sort of hybrid system in regards to armor. Shouldn't they use blunt weapons? It seems like cleavers would cause more blood loss, not less and that would mean a greater chance of killing the victim. Blunt weapons are more likely to knock someone unconscious than sharp weapons(in this case, cleavers) which would be the ultimate goal of the can...
