If you gentlemen read the fine print on the page it says a purchase of 10$ is enough to get the game so you can in effect just select donate without perk and put 10$ down. Chris you need another $10 or $15 tier that's just a copy of the game. $25 is a fairly high starting point (since 5 doesn't count outside of pure donation), and when this starts getting picked up by gaming mags you'll get alot more donations with the lower opening pledge.

Maybe I read it wrong or perhaps even imagined it as it was late at night but I thought on alpha release one of the notes said that armor won't actually mitigate any damage yet.

That actually sounds like a great concept to have, something that would make the core fighting and character development even more fun. It would make henchmen training and recruiting from different styles much more important and make each one have a unique "personality" to them that would ...

since the game has a definite Japanese flavor maybe some sort of mythological beings would fit in (a ton of source to work from and definitely interesting and new, especially with a western interpretation).

Having a disease/poison system could be pretty fun. it could be a nice mechanic to make bed rest and eating/drinking be more valuable than just meeting a need. IE someone that's well rested and maybe well nutritioned is much less likely to come down with a disease or become infected after battle or ...
