Re: Kenshi Audio Updates
That latest video showing the dynamic music was just crazy... all the different instruments and sounds came together in such an awesome way. I'm an audiophile, so I'm usually picky, but I thought that was just epic. It gave me chills. Atmosphere is something game music composers are so bad with, usu...

Re: My Own Game!
Well... have to admit, recently I've gotten back into my music making, this time all about real instruments (guitar and vocals) and not electronics. And I just made the mistake of learning about League of Legends. AND a friend and I have agreed to start making a game together, a different game. It's...

Re: Huge Stat Penalties
Any mod can delete this thread, because the thread
".47 stacking combat skill modifier from arrange button use"
is actually the same problem I'm having.

Re: .47 stacking combat skill modifier from arrange button u
This might be the problem I had that I just made a thread about. Let me see if it's true. Because I mash that button a lot
EDIT: Just tried it out, this is actually exactly the problem I had. Pretty important bug to fix, IMO

Re: Huge Stat Penalties
A double post shouldn't hurt if this is still the newest thread. I can confirm that looting is the cause, but I still don't know exactly how. I put some items from guy number 1 onto a body, and from the body to guy number 2. Basically, I just redistributed weight. But they both had a stat penalty af...

Huge Stat Penalties
So I've got a team of two dudes, and I noticed as I played more and more that their stat penalties from heavy armor and being encumbered and wearing a backpack and all that started stacking. Or something... all I know is that I had one guy with a running speed of 11, and a combat attack modifier of ...

Re: My Own Game!
Just a small update, I've been at work (holy cow, some level of regularity from me) on a HUD. It is extremely minimalistic and intended to be as non-ubtrusive as possible while still maintaining some level of feedback. In the BOTTOM middle, you have your compass. It looks a lot like Skyrim's, but wi...

Re: My Own Game!
Yeah, the one thing I'm worried about is me making a system that is so ridiculously complex that everybody will get pissed because their seemingly healthy character dies of a vitamin xyz deficiency or something. To which I need to build a HUD that can somehow show all the levels of stuff you need. N...

Re: My Own Game!
Haven't replied for a relatively long-ish amount of time here... but I did lurk a bit and read everything up to this point a few days ago. Thank you Meanbearzombie, your suggestions and research are actually very useful! I've been thinking of doing "methods" for how you complete certain ac...

Re: My Own Game!
Really? Damn... I might have to come back to you for "proof reading" more often. You seem to be more educated on the matter. Tell me, do you have any ideas regarding muscle fatigue, muscle memory, or anything kinda like that? I plan to implement a system of checks before you do an action t...

Re: My Own Game!
Yes, yes, all that is planned. White blood cells and infection, especially. But intracranial pressure was not in my list of planned variables... not because I chose not to, but because I didn't even consider thinking about it! So I will add it in, in honor of your good idea! I do plan to have a syst...

Re: My Own Game!
Sorry to everyone that lost hope and thought this died... THOUGHT... @Blxz (I forget how to spell) - Yes, it's turning out to look more and more like that. At this time in my life, it is unrealistic to develop this full time. But it hasn't stopped. Nuh-uh. @ManBearZombie - I intend to simulate as mu...

Re: My Own Game!
Yeah, it mostly just takes a lot of time for research. A lot of these values and rates are total generalizations, though. This represents only a fraction of my total research, anyways. One issue I've been sleeping on lately is how to deal with time flowing constantly. The game engine only runs as ma...

Re: My Own Game!
Would be interested to see your polished version of the flow-graph, if it is OK with you. Have a friend who might also be interested--though they aren't of the medical profession. Derp. I didn't even know you replied. Anyways my most recent work has been most fulfilling. The flow graph is very clea...

Re: My Own Game!
Just jumping back in to say I've finally done some more work on it! Yay! I realized part of the problem of me being hesitant to delve back in was because the flowgraph was a big jumbled mess. I'm rebuilding it from the ground up (just the flowgraph portion) with the hopes that work will be much easi...

Re: Unreal World RPG
You know, this game is what I named my project after.
Intacilis Regnum - Intangible Realm (Latin) - which is parallel to Unreal World
Great game!
Love.

Re: My Own Game!
I'll hopefully finally get a damn day off tomorrow. I've just been working like a madman recently to cover for a coworker that just quit. Bleh. I've almost trained a new person though. Now she's off to try the job herself! (I'm so proud! ) On a more related note: thanks wolfwood, I actually al...

Re: My Own Game!
Awesome, an answer! Sadly, I do want to use that model exactly as is... but don't worry, on Thursday and Friday, I will have time off, and I can get myself reengaged. Those were some pretty good suggestions, but I would rather go for full-on simulation rather than ease-of-use. Which is a segway to a...

Re: My Own Game!
Ah, darn calculus. I'll have to dig up how those work. I thought about using them, but I forgot how to, so I wanted to search for other methods. But yes, differentials would work for things like that. Here is an example of something I think about sometimes: EDIT: Herp Derp. http://bwsimulator.niddk....
