I bought the game about 2 weeks ago, and I love it. The newness however has worn off and i feel myself lost with in the game. I just don't have any goal(s) in mind.

What would you guys consider as goals to aim for?

to wait for .40!!!

I guess as a challenge you could keep trying to eliminate every town on the map but there not much else to do other than fight until version .40 comes out (2 weeks I think). you will be able to set up an economy then and will be able to actually set up shop then.

right now I'm thinking of getting a lot of money so that I can get an early start on this when it comes out.
I'M BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i bought kenshi!!!!!!!!!

A this stage in the game's development, getting bored of the existing possibilities is expected. You invested in an alpha, since you've gotten bored with this version wait for the next one. That goes for all future versions, not just the .40 which is coming very very soon with a metric shitton of content.

Most likely we will all get bored of .40 as well. There will be stuff to build and set up but then nothing after that to work towards. What the game really needs are some time/effort sinks and some things to aim for longterm. It will come eventually but the process will be gradual.

I think you have misunderstood me. I'm not bored with it yet, just looking for a milestone to work towards. Getting max squad size to lvl 100 str, building so many builds, things like that. I mean right now I'm going for the 1 man army with a single medic tag along, ( not going so hot).

I had the one man army for a long time. It was only in preparation for the next release that I hired 3 extra dudes to start being my labourers and I'm training their strength and athletics.

The trick with the one man army is not getting into fights where you will get wiped out. it is different thinking to general squad stuff. I find it feels a bit more realistic since in the real world if you get cut down then there is little chance of getting back up again, even if some guy does run out and magically bandage you.

Still, there isn't a whole lot to do. My best suggestion is to amass materials. Get ~100K of cats and ~200 building blocks stored up so you don't need to scum around for materials and money when the next version gets released. This is easier if you have a small base already set up. Work towards some sort of permanence now. I've previously just built little shacks and then moved on when I felt like a change. Next version will reward a more sedentary and central base location.

Alternatively you might want to have little specialised 'villages' next version. In that case get a bigish squad and start to build up your little outposts now. That way when the next release is ready you can wall them up and start them up as farming town and crafting town, etc. with your chosen dudes living in each place.

I might have overthought this a bit, but maybe this will let you think of your own suggestions. The world is your oyster, enjoy it.
