Okay, imo the whole lurening bandit's into towns, and lure bodyguards away from the traders so they can get robbed, is a A.I thing, not a economics thing, and shoulnte be used for good reason to balance the economies,

I havent had more than 30k-40k yet, and I've played alot, I do have 1 guy with pretty good stuff equiped, the rest of my 19 people, have the best that bandits/ninjas have to offer +/-

I tend to make alot of rum, and bread, that I fill my counters with, and when they are fully fillede, I have 10 people with traders backpacks, that I fill with the tradegods, and send em to the nearste town, that still have people within it, and ofc I kill bandits that attack me, and bring the bounty and they weapons, the runs. can make ca 30k which I use very fast for a unique weapon, or a special armor

Everything is hard in the beginning, but after some luck i came across a lot of angry raiders and a town full of NPCs ready to kill them. After looting all the dead from both sides i had quite a bit of money, good equipment, this was of many many hours of roaming the desert and built up a small crew. I stopped playing after i built an outpost which took forever... but since i have come back to all the buildings like the mine and what not i'm pretty self sufficient, i don't need a lot of money.

I can not say that I'm rich.
I can not say that I'm broke.
At the beginning I need to spend, but I earn quite easy — find a bloodshed and shuttle loot to nearest shop.
But then, I rather don't see a lot use for money and but earning is routine to waste time on it.
So, mostly I don't need money, but them I need I earn easily, but boringly.

In the beginning depending on your start option money can be a bit of a pain to get... but once you get that initial... i'd say 25 or 50k and begin to build your own outpost and craft everything you need money becomes pretty meaningless. I am filthy rich because i go sell all my awesome equipment i have extras of.

I imagine in the future once i'm raising and army and trade caravans and then politics of all types the money I earn will be quickly spent.

sitting at like 400k atm with 65 or so hours spent all of my time crafting and selling think my weps sell for more then what the shop owners can afford now.took prolly about 40 hours or so of crafting before id say i could buy anything i wanted. i would say the system right now is reasonable takes a long time to make a fortune. just nothing to spend it on once you have it, i am assuming once you can hire and equip armies this wont be a problem.

I think that actual buildings should be more expensive by a fair margin, but cheaper building options should be available. The starting building should be a tent, not a concrete behemoth, though now that I think about it, how would a tent work with the rough ground, perhaps a slightly more rugged "tent" with a real interior, but certainly not a concrete building. I'd like cheaper, more natural looking buildings in general, and pricing adjusted according to what's realistic rather than what's balanced, within reason. Finally, I think that the price of a building should be representative of the cost of buying resources and paying civilian labour, rather than just an arbitrary meta number. This means that going and getting the specialists materials, such as wood planks and fittings, should lower the price.

That seems like alot to worry about since the guys that you own do all the building and harvesting of the building materials like stone etc. Not sure if id like to see them trying to nickel and dime me since i own them and they live in the same struggling civ as me. Dunno why id have to pay them or pay for building materials since i harvested it all myself.

I made over 600k from merchants visiting my town, and from collecting bounties. Granted most of the bounties have disappeared, but if the caravan somehow manages to walk to my shop counter, i make a lot of money selling bread and rum.

However, if i get bored, i tend to make a lot of money selling rum and bread in the towns.

I set up my main base close to a town. Built up my production then just sold it to the town did not care about price. As long as it was the higher end stuff. I have about 200k now. No reason to loot stopped that after I could make the goods better then I could loot.

An there really is no reason to make more money. I have all the bp now.

What would make making money in game more needed or one idea is that the goods or well armor and weapons can get damaged and worn out. Then add an idem you can only get from braking down of looted idems or buy it from the local store and you have to have it in every thing you make. There for you always have to loot or go and buy it to craft more. There for you will never have enough money.

I made my "emporio" killing Dust Bandits, or if I see one poor soul taking a sunbath in the desert, I sell their equipment and sometimes (if I don't want to kill more dust bandits) selling some bread and rum to towns (but it isn't worth the trouble for me, I'm war type and no merchants near my base).

But once you can make your own equipment and make your own building materials .....money is a bit useless, except for buying splint kits, buy bags and maybe buy something you can't make (drifter boots for example)....well maybe I don't spend too much money......but basically I make profit from spoils of war (equipment and bounty) :D

Yeah well after I made 200k and seen that I have no reason to make any more then that other then bragging rights. Well I now only sell to free up room. But even went around that and just filled another house with weapon racks and other supply boxes.
