I was customizing my character and a horde of ninjas jump in and kill me as I'm trying to MAKE my character. I wasn't even in the game! Can we have a pause or an after creation timer before you get jumped?

This happens to me on some of the starting options about 75% of the time, literally just loaded up and already being attacked, the game should at least be paused at character creation, just isn't fun having to re-launch the game the moment you start to re-roll.

Hilarious! Better be faster next time you create your character, time waits for no man.

I hadn't been sitting there...well, at all really, I've tried to play today and this literally happened 3 more times as I started up

Yeah that's a known issue.

It would be nice if the game could be on pause when you create your character and enter the game.

I honestly didn't know what was going on the first time i logged in. At least starting with the game being paused would be a great idea. Just so new people can get a bearing on where they are and what is going on. (Not to mention stopping bandits from steamrolling you while still generating the character)

The issue with pausing during character creation is that the game while paused doesnt update your character model. The solution would be to step time forward one frame every time you make a change in the editor i think. (Of course, i could just be completely wrong)

should just start your new character in the closest town or in random spots instead of in the ONE spot multiple bandit groups patrol through

That would be quite unfortunate. I love me my Soldier start, where you play the survivor of a failed expedition. I really like that start.

Isn't that the same as all starts with a group apart from the other starts show the reason it failed moment's after character creation? :P

Personally i think having a create character option on the main menu would be good, it would allow you to focus on creating your character without any distraction like a desert hare hopping in the background, also it will allow you to save the character template that you just made so you can use it in multiple games without having to recreate it from scratch.

Edit: Yes i am aware of the import to new game option but as far as i can tell that does not reset your skills.

Yeah that would be a good option to have, might put up a suggestion thread for it if nobody else has.
