I am speechless. And let me reiterate......I still can't believe they call me the black hole of morality when other people are talking about Kitten powered kitty tailed kitty monsters. I am an angel compared to this.

I would guess being called that has something to do with you supporting social media style "like" buttons, and perhaps loving alcohol too much. But that's just a guess.

More of a forum reputation thing than anything.

Also, I have cleared 1400 posts sometime during my drunken stupor last night. Congrats to me....I guess.

A winner is you. For this great accomplishment, you've earn a year's supply of thumbtacks. Also some artificial limbs powered by liquid fuel (don't stand near any open flames).

What the hell, this is really going out of hand... :|
Well then, I propose that we go back to the topic to talk about serious manly things 8-)
Or you could go off-topic on whether or not kittens is a good fuel for artificials limbs.
And also, Australia seems like a lovely, peaceful, pest-ridden, place...

No pests in australia. We have enough venomous creatures to take care of all the pests. We even have spiders that eat birds.

That is a nice link to my local governments website in my town. Keep that in mind next time any of you decide to visit the great barrier reef; we have bird eating spiders!

Ehhh... I dunno about this one. One problem I foresee with this would be if you play the game long enough, and keep the same guys alive for long enough, sooner or later your entire squad will be made of like 60% metal (maybe exaggerating, maybe a fair point). This game is likely to run for a very long time, and players are bound to keep going even after they have the strongest fighters and are capable of dominating the entire world. Until then, I would prefer not to have half my guys missing a limb or two. Also, if robotic limbs become a thing, then there is no excuse for not adding robotic companions along the lines of C-3P0, or other mechanical soldiers. Attaching robotic limbs to the nervous system would be very difficult and require tech that I don't think this world has.

I can think of a great one. It's called AI. It's entirely possible to create mechanical/robotic limbs and not have full-blown smart fighting robots. We pretty much do this in real-life today; there are many advances in prosthetic limbs, but we certainly don't have AI developed enough that it could hang out with us and make appropriate life decisions as if it were a human.

I would rather not see robots in this game at all or if so, only in very rudimentary forms.

Well considering ive seen 1 of my chars gets 1 of his arms beaten up to -170 damage. i think a robotic replacement would be nice, instead of dieing. I dont ask where it comes from how it works who invented it, with 1 arm u can still fight, i doubt u will be much of a fighter if ur leg gets severed. Sure replace it with a stick.
Have u ever seen some1 in real life with a prostetic affordable limp. And i dont mean the par olimpics. just in dailey life you can easely push them over(balance issues) so in a fight they would be good for punchbag nothing more.
So robotic limps is in my point of view the best alternative if you wanna implemebt severed limps.

Well if you wanna ask where how and when, Plz dont!!! :D
Just know they are there for severing limps and when you put raw mats togeter some1 crafts robotic limps out of em easy.

If you wanna compare a game with humans in it with reality, you wont find much games that are compareble with reality.

Well lets start with basic cb then, I think if i hit you in real life on your head with a katana you wont be able to tell it to your grandchildren. unless i dont hit u with the sharp side :D

So leaving it at that this is a game, not a reflection of reality.

On the severing limps part i hope this doesnt happen all to often. I like huge battles but the limp severing there would be enormous if it happens more quickly, then i expect it to...

You think that's bad? There are spiders that have the f***ing size of a PLATE and others that are BIGGER. Hell, some even eat snakes.

You are lucky in comparison to this.

The one eating the snake is the same type of spider as the one I posted. An Orb spider. I am not sure exactly what species it is, possibly a South American version. But they are basically the same thing. =)

The part where you mentioned about having the technology to create mechanical/robotic limbs in real life today, and talking about all the advancements... does the Kenshi world seem to you like it is advanced as far as we are today? Do you know the precision it takes and the amount of pain caused by attaching nerves to a machine? This isn't an episode of Fullmetal Alchemist sir. If anything, the process to attach mechanical limbs would at best be like Ash did in Army of Darkness :p That being said, maybe they could replace an arm with a chainsaw.

Anyway, maybe I worded it poorly, so if what I said was mistaken for wanting robots I apologize. I am not trying to justify adding robots into the game. Far from it. I have no desire for this to turn into a mech warrior game or anything of the like. The point was that if the world of Kenshi had the technology to attach nerves to a robotic arm, they would have the technology to build more sophisticated machines like robots. However, I realize now that I had exaggerated a bit in my post, and have since changed my opinion.

We have to remember the other side of the coin here. No one has specifically claimed with 100% certainty that this is Earth. The technological advancements could have easily progressed in a certain direction without reaching the pinnacle of computing and programming as we did. That said, I change my mind regarding the mechanical limbs. I think they make sense, and could be a great addition to the game. They could even give an armor bonus against bladed weapon damage, while taking slightly more damage from blunted weapons. Could add an extra layer of strategy when choosing who will fight whom.
