Imagine you're the mayor of a town. You have excellent stores with a nice selection of goods. Your walls are tall and defended by turrets and guards. Then slavers wander through your town and hang around as traders.

Not too long after, a big battle goes on between your guards and a bandit mob. Then, these pooshes of slavers have the gall to try to enslave one of your guards. In his own town.

I've watched them do the same thing to knocked out police, mercenaries and the like. What insane balls.

yeah, it kind of bug me too... i think they should get a bounty if they try to enslave a guard with witness around them... so that the police can attack them... but the heavy armored slavers can easily outnumber the damn police...
i personally really hate the slavers at this time, they dont usually contribute to attack the bandits, and just leisurely enslave every casualties in battle...
hence, i always attack every slave traders that dare to wonder around my base, pierce them with the advanced harpoons while my workers are repairing the gate they attack...

DEATH TO THE SLAVERS

*ps: with the diplo mod, i made all factions friendly towards me except slavers, we are at eternal war

Well slavers should be bastards. Hopefully with the improved faction system you'll be able to make formal war with them and wipe them out permanently or at least close to it.

Can't say i have any intention of wiping the slavers out as i think they add a lot to the feel of the game.

Been following kenshi for years now and over the past week i've logged in to get my squad of bad asses and not so bad asses ready for the beta update in the process i got bored and raided a UC town since i have been at war with them for like a year and half now and it was great pleasure to see them all hauled off in chains by slavers. However, i also killed the slavers after they enslaved everyone haha.

The sheer numbers is overwhelming, that's the biggest problem. Slavers turn people into a sellable good. In a devastated world that is harsh and unforgiving, not many people are going to be alive. So it doesn't make sense to have 1000 guys wandering around chaining anyone that's unconscious. In my current playthru, my small base has at least 1 patrol nearby at ALL times, and up to 4 at times. Right outside my damn walls.

Wouldn't be so big an issue if I wasn't using some stolen armor from one of those dickwads... but even without that in mind, there are really just far too many of them. IMO anyways.

So what would be the solution? Less spawn rates for slavers and consequences for kidnapping members of a faction?

I'm not a programmer, but I can't imagine it would be too much work to make AI hostile against someone who's kidnapping their own faction members.

But that might cause trouble of players who are picking up guards and taking them inside the walls to heal.

I'm not really seeing the slavemongers around all that often in the new beta release. It seems fairly well balanced so far, but I did definitely share this sentiment before it came out. Are you playing experimental?

My guess is he's not, but regardless it's something that should be addressed. How would slavers interact with the Holy Nation in 0.90?
I wouldn't want them to always be fighting to provide easy loot at early stages of the game.
I also wouldn't want them raiding my camp early game either, but I might just be a pansy.
