Why do dogs lay down next to the people theyve just injured?

I have a squad of 6 out to explore the new areas in .93. There are a ton of dogs however, about 50 of them (a couple different group of them) and they wiped out my squad, they are all unconscious. However, i cant do anything because they just sit there. Like 50 of them. So whenever one of my characters wakes up, they all go after him and make him unconscious again. I get that its supposed to be hard, but this seems really unfair. Would a wolf or a dog do that in real life?

They're waiting to eat you. At that point you're food, and in the wild similar behaviour is exhibited by many species, including canines.

My advice would be to play dead until more of your guys are up, and enjoy the rest and healing in the meantime.
