ok so i made a base near blister hill and while i can take the attack by the raptors and way to common i can almost never leave my base since they attack all the time. i once had 5 whole nests attack at the same time they all died but its still a pain to deal with. a limit or some logic like lots of deaths in a area near the same time causes them to travel to new area for a time

I have experimented with raptor attack.

One solution is hiring mercenaries.

To give you an idea about my raptor experiment: I set nest numbers to 4. So there where a lot of them and bandits.

I built this base on the edge of the swamp, so these where swamp raptors.

How did i survive? by having good equipment on my farmers and having 6 guys.

Eventually when they where strong enough to survive the attacks, they wiped out the nests and i could eat my own food. This took about 2 weeks in game with guys whose states where in the 1s This makes good training for weaker guys.

Now, the noob solution is to either build a base in an arid place and focous eat dustwhichs (kenshi falafil)

or build a farm base after you have good equipment. the mercenaries in my solution had trouble fighting the bastards, and where mostly there to carry my guys to bed. It is hard at first, but good farming is a mid level challenge, not a beginning of the game challenge.

Now when i start a new game, or import a new world, i set the squad size and the nest size to 4, so that i can train my noobs up with tons and tons of beatings so that they get stronger faster.

I suspect that new nests are constantly spawning.

I am currently experimenting with max nests and max squad size, for beatings.

I am noticing that new nests are constantly popping up, and very quickly. Each log in there are new nests that i did not see before.

This may explain why you are constantly under attack.

then a distance limiter should be in place they can only spawn a set distance from bases

that should already be in place, other wise you would have nests spawning inside your base.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

then why keep finding my base and it not like i see a lot of them roaming around the are targeted right at my base and even after buying mercenaries they just walk in and eat some crops i have my base set to private they are dead the second they enter

My experience here:

Nests set to 1, when i first settled in the same area as you, i've had troubles with raptors as well. I've wiped out couple of nests nearby by myself, and they've been "wiping out" automatically as i kept defending my place, so, slowly the attacks grew fewer and further between. It all goes in circle once i import to a newer version, however, but things goes acceptably quiet in a couple ingame days. They still attack me from time to time, but it's maybe happening once per day or two.

May i ask what do you do with their corpses? I think large body count attracts predators. I'm having couple of guys assigned to incinerator, and whenever there's a dead body, they woosh it right away.
