Roaming enemy spawns

Hello everyone, Im new to kenshi just got it a few days ago. Im on day 50+ now, mostly just been mining near cities in the Holy Nation.

During my first several days I noticed a lot of enemy activity around...hungry bandits and dust bandits and packs of wolves. However now that i actually want to/can fight I cant seem to find any any where. Its very strange, i will hang around a spot where I got attacked frequently in the past but no luck.

In fact, ive been running around The Holy Nation and border zone all day today exploring. Then i realized its been many in game days since I saw any roaming enemies. Ive only seen paladin patrois for some reason. No more nomads or merchant caravans no bandits no animals.

Is this a known issue? All my google fu returned were reports of quite the opposite situation, people encountering lots of enemies and being in constant peril, which is kinda what i wanted lol

It's the very nature of RNG, sometimes enemies will be frequent, sometimes rare, sometimes an average mix.

If you want more to spawn though, you could turn up the squad numbers in the options menu.

They tend to wander around as well. Head north up the arm and you should find more, or west into the vain.
