My first example was actually of a mechanical drider dual wielding a gun. That picture vanished after a few hours so I quietly replaced it with the current illustration. You just have to imagine what a rusty clock work version would look like.

You know, I vaguely remember a movie that had a giant spider steam punk robot thing, that is similar to what you are talking about. Lets see if Old Man Liver can dust some cobwebs out of his head and remember what it was..

Ah ha! That old Will Smith movie, Wild Wild West. Granted, that spider was much larger then what we are talking about. But, Steampunk robot spider is a really specific idea, so be happy with this.

Stemcells!!!
In which you grow your arm back in a laboratory! which would take a long long time but then you would get your arm back (see its balanced!)
And the texture doesn't even have to change!

I F***ING LOVE THAT MOVIE! I hereby demand that we implement this vehicle as the only one, or a relic of the old world!

People just want to be weeaboos. Next they'll ask for Touhou themed characters. Steampunk and rusted "old world" technology is going to be added, and already has with .40, so get over it. Nothing you say will change whether Chris will add robotic limbs or not, because he has decided he already will.

Deal with it. Cry about it. I don't care, just shut up about it. It's obnoxious you people think this is fucking feudal Japan when Chris himself said in an interview the game might as well take place on another planet.

It's not medieval Japan. Just get over it. Period.

To those of you saying there should be mechanical limbs, keep being fantastic.

Btw, sorry if this seems off topic but I just wanted to put my opinion on the mechanical arms somewhere and I decided to put it here. Continue with the topic of that awesome spider thing in Wild Wild West

Thank you.

Sydious wrote:1. Those limbs through history were in no way mechanical. The one made to hold up a shield was moved by the bi-cep to raise it to possition. It itself had no mechanical movement.
Yes they were not moved on their own, I never suggested those ones should be. It'd kinda be like an action figures hand. I suggested one upgraded with small motors to move on its own, so you didn't have to manually position your fingers to hold whatever you wanted to hold.
Sydious wrote: 2. Just cos its on the net doesnt mean its true. The internet is one of the biggest sources of info. Its just a shame ANYONE can create a web page and spew out whatever the hell they want. Worse yet, idiots believe it.
You should look this up yourself before throwing this one around because I looked up the Roman and the Gotz Von Berlichingen guy and they were both real people and had a metal prosthetic.

Here is an example:

I think zibathy said it best.

Now back on topic:

I agree damaged limbs should need to be repaired at a crafting table or in a town (maybe a quirky merchant that seems to sell random odds and ends that can repair them). Maybe a science/mechanical skill could be used with a toolkit (like the bandages we have now) to make a damaged limb working again. Maybe the toolkits don't repair past a certain percent (you don't have all the materials to truly repair the limb) it needs to be repaired in a town or in your workshop to be "healed" like how you use medkits and splints to get organic limbs to 100.
