Is a procedurally generated world map planned for future releases or will it remain a static map like now?

The reason I'm asking this is, that in my opinion random maps increase replay value a lot. Now I know, procedural generation is no easy thing to code, but exploration of the map is pretty much uninteresting once you've been everywhere.

As far as I know, that is not planned.

I also think a lot of the other features, are much more important. I can hardly wait to build my own buildings/make a home base/fort :)

Yes it is planned. Each time you start a new game, the game-world will change except for the landscape.

EDIT:
Here's what i found in a quick search:
The world map will be a lot bigger. Towns will be procedurally generated, meaning I can fill the whole world single-handed and it will be different every time you start a new game.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Not bad :) However, I see *towns* being procedurally generated... does that mean that *map* also will be?

Nope, as I said. The procedure will help Chris to add some level of uniqueness to each new game but the landscape (sand dunes, mountains and such) will remain the same since it's all handmade.

At least for now, that's what Chris said. If he's thinking about changing it a bit procedurally, he didn't tell us yet. But for now, in his own words: "Even I have to jump hoops to edit the terrain".

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Somewhere in the middle. The towns really are the most important things to change. If they move around and have different factions present in different amounts then the whole dynamic of the game changes.

Yeah I want towns to be procedural, although currently it would probably take around half an hour to generate because of all the pathfinding generation needed.

One thousand posts for Chris. Cheers :)
Also cheers for procedurally generated stuff :D

Thanks for the explanation. If at least the towns (and their position?) are being randomized, that would already be a huge improvement.

The map itself would be quite hard to do I think, since it's not some tile-based map or anything similar. Then again, I am not very familiar, with how procedural processing algorithms look like, so I'm kind of talking out of my ass. ;)
