Some ruins

What's the point of certain ruins when they are a single building that's completely broken and have nothing nearby and are completely empty inside, or even worse when they are in such a bad shape that you can't even enter them? I can see them as being decorations to enrich the world, but is there really a point to mark those ruins on the world map?

For example a particular ruin was in the middle of a certain lake that I had to swim to to get to, but it ended up just being a partially submerged building that I couldn't enter, there was no loot nearby, or anything. Just a pretty big waste of time to go see that submerged building.
What's the point?

there's most likely plans for them in the future.
or could just be what we do irl. mark locations of interest even if there is nothing there.

Locations of "interest"? More like un-interest! Kappa.

The thing about it, is that there ARE tech hunters, and the DO find tech.

So that means that they will have picked some ruins clean, and will have done it a while ago.

They also make good landmarks. When you say sunken empty ruin, i assume that you mean the one in the middle of the southern wetlands, east of the swamp ninja base?

There are a few other empty ruins, like the fallen tower in the northwest, the empty ruin in the crater, and the infested ruin in the swamp.

What does annoy me are the fallen towers. I bet they have all sorts of stuff at the bottom, but you can't get to it.

This is what resonates to me about abandoned things about the world. The world already is big -- and having landmarks, whether there is loot or not, gives it a feeling of history. Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't love to occasionally find things (by chance) but I do let almost everything I see fuel my imagination and give me headings. Also camps spots!

Anything that might fill in later is welcome! I can't wait to see the rest of the world.
