Worst Injury Ever

The swamp ninjas swam across the lake and raided my island base in the wetlands again, but this time my combat squad was there. Several red spiders wandered through the gate at the same time, resulting in a huge melee. The ninjas won, and the defending units were knocked out after the battle. Recovering all of the injured units, bandaging them up, and putting them in bed took a while as a result. The base had a team of 6 hivers farming riceweed, brewing sake, and cooking up turtle meat and there were 9 combat squad units present as well. One of the hivers died before the rescue team could save him.

Another hiver was knocked out in deep water next to an underwater stone mine. When he was pulled up from the depths, his leg was in the worst condition I've ever seen at -530 or so. His other body parts had suffered minor damage and blood was down to -35 or so. Bandaging up this injury took a while, but he was successfully placed in bed and is recovering. Don't think I've seen a unit take that much damage before.

Think i've had a bug report here somewhere, with similarily enormous limb damage, somerhing beyond 500, i can't remember for sure.
I really hope this amount of damage will have some gameplay impact in the future. And also it should be capped at -100 imo :)

UPD:

Couldn't find it in previous posts, so here it goes:

Not really a bug as much as it is bad luck. You'll only get knocked out if one of your vital body parts (chest, stomach, head) are knocked below a certain point. Limbs can probably go as low as a thousand if not more, if RNG decides to target those limbs enough times consecutively.

I think the main issue with this is that it doesn't seem very logical. I mean, if 100 means "sompletely healthy, no healing needed" 0 means "completely injured, heal up" then, by logic, -100 should mean "completely gone beyond healing", which is also death if vital part is in question, and would've been limb amputation if this feature were added to the game. And -500 just doesn't quite fits into the logic :)

Seeing that -600 to the limbs reminds me of the old bug we had back in 2014 where the AI would keep targeting your legs if both your arms were crippled to keep you from running away. I had bandits take one of my guys down to -2000 on the right leg before my FRT (Fast Reaction Team) got over there to save him.

So yeah, it has happened before in the past.

Silvershade, the Hive Price for hire.

You enter the Bar where he's hanging out and 3 thugs remind him about his debt and proceed to beat him up. I am not sure if it by coincidence or by design that I saw this happen, but the thugs promised him to break his legs had he not paid the debt and they did so. They pick him up and drop him outside the bar with a broken leg.

If, like me, you decide to stick around to see what happens next, for science you know... he will sit down at the Bar again, and few hours later the scene repeats itself: the thugs approach him and break his leg as promised. Again.

The second time the injury was too severe and he was dying from blood loss. His leg was at - 250 ish. If only those thugs would hit him a bit harder I'm sure he would have managed to reach some record-breaking level.

I remember reading something about prosthesis in the dev logs as something they hoped they could implement. This could be why the limbs can reach such a low level. If implemented perhaps limbs that reach (-x) have to be removed until a prosthetic can be attached.

that is the plan, but it's also a luxury feature so won't make it into the game before release. most likely will come in a post release Free DLC if they can get it working.
