trader base preference

So i have set up a large base that needs a steady flow of traders to keep going but i set up a war camp to fight the slavers but all my caravans are going to the war camp even though it is private is their a way to change trader preference to come to my larger base?

Is there a way to know what locations the traders will stop in order to buy from your market counter? Is it only along the paths they normally follow as they walk through the world? If so, does that mean a shop on a road will attract traders, while they ignore a shop that's 20 feet away?

there is not that i know of.
they wander around the region they are assigned to.
