Started a new game with an adventurer start and ended up in the new desert area with the UC cities. At first it looked like a much more difficult start but think the game might actually be easier for new players now.

The inhabitants of the new area reminded me of the Hook. Without getting an early boost by raiding the ruins, the Hook would be a difficult place to start, and I don't know where the ruins are in the new area. Turned out my character could mine copper outside the UC capital with little risk, a bandit farmer took a few swings once but ran away afterward. Might even be safer than mining inside some of the old city areas. The UC guards haven't asked for a bribe so far. The 70 percent copper deposits are better than many of the copper deposits in the old areas, heard Stenn Desert copper might have been nerfed but that was a risky start anyway because of the skin spiders.

It's also easier to navigate the UC desert cities because of their large size. World's End has a lot of empty space but many of the old cities have buildings very close to one another.

In 5 in-game days I recruited 5 characters, including two that joined for free, and bought a shack and set up a clothing bench. That's a faster start than my other games and was mostly the result of the high-quality copper outside the UC capital.
