Hi, just purchased this game yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it so far! I just have a few questions about what the future of the game holds, if anyone knows.
1.) Are limbs sever-able? In the FAQ it doesn't list yes or no so I figured I'd ask.
2.) If yes, how will we replace them? I wouldn't mind having a 1armed swordsman, but I'm assuming he takes a massive penalty for that.
3.) What kind of technologies will we be researching?
4.) What is strength XP multiplier and how do I raise/lower it?
5.) How often is this game updated?
EDIT: 6.) Will there be any kind of "finishing move"? I would like to be able to prevent some enemies from getting up if I so choose.
Thank you for your time!
A few questions about future updates
1. It was planned but I think it's under review.
2. I think it's supposed to be Steampunk or something similar designed robotic limbs. Still kind of under review though.
3. I can't quite answer that one really. I suppose 'Better Farming method' or ' Better smithing method' or 'Emerging Technology 1'.
4. Work those muscles man. Work em hard by fighting a lot I guess.
5. Depends of what Chris(Only Dev) is working on. Once every month or month and a half maybe? Immediately followed by bug fix updates. Some things take longer due to complexity.
6. It's been talked about a bit. Not sure which way Chris swung on it.

1. Not as yet.
2. Apparently when severed limbs are implemented there will be some sort of robitic/prosthetic limb system for replacements. Has been hinted it could be very high tech or difficult to achieve but there is little concrete information at the moment.
3. I assume the aformentioned robotics tech, probably some kind of mining/resource gathering techs and military and crafting techs. But again, there is little concrete information. The best part is, since its still alpha you can think of something and make a big case to Chris and he might consider your idea if it is feasible.
4. Farked if I know. But I think it has to do with the weight of your weapon and how much your strength increases per swing. Get a big heavy weapon and it should go up.
5. Can vary, sometimes after a week sometimes after 2 months+. Basically, from what i have observed, Chris will update the game once he has completed a chunk of new content. This results in things that tend to be more or less completed and work in isolation with each other.
To be more specific, the most recent building update was only released once he had made beds and some furniture to be placed in buildings and had coded in the ability to use these new items and a reason to use them (slower normal healing, faster bed healing, and training dummies, etc.)
6. That depends on where he goes with combat styles, etc. He could make 'research' as part of studying new fighting techniques. Or maybe not. I have suggested the ability to kill an enemy that is passed out on the ground but I am not sure about the idea of knocking someone back and OHKO finishing them.
But again, this is still alpha. get out in these forums and suggest away. There is a thread out there somewhere asking for suggestion. I suggest you find that rather than creating new ones all the time. Some of the mods are really scary people. (
) They will come down hard if you start to forum spam.
EDIT: Damn you Kamos, Emu'd me.

1- yes, but not yet
3- improved weapons, armour, gear, buildings, and defenses. And other stuff too.
4- Strength XP multiplier is how fast your Strength is increasing. Its higher if you use a heavier weapon, but the trade off is that it will make you slower.
6- yes
