How do I use power from a generator?

Hi there,
I haven´t found an answer by searching the forum so I ask here:
I have built a wind generator but how is the power used? Do I need to link refineries to the generator?
Does the power reach refineries wireless? If so, what is the longest range between generator and usage-building?

wind generators depend on the amount of wind, so the power can fluctuate a lot

Yes it's wireless, just no arches of DC current flying through the air, but that would be cool.
In theory the range is anywhere within your outpost. but it I don't know a specific range. The power is just added to your out post total. There is a range limit so if you build too far from the outpost there will not be any power. in general If the outpost info is not showing on the right hand side of the screen then you are too far out.
