just throwing it out there, some type of music would be nice, just so you have something to listen to, while playing even if its just one song played over and over again, just saying, if not that's ok, am just throwing it in to the thread
Hiring someone for the music its expensive, some day in the future there will be sounds, but music is a no, if my memory is right chris said that the game will only have ambient sounds.lalemanalex87 wrote:just throwing it out there, some type of music would be nice, just so you have something to listen to, while playing even if its just one song played over and over again, just saying, if not that's ok, am just throwing it in to the thread
djfabiokk is correct. No music to be included in-game but ambient sound and other sound effects will at some stage in the future.
There is a music recommendations thread in the off-topic forum where some people have compiled a list of the kinds of music they like to listen to in kenshi if you want to check that out.

The thought of music is cool and all, but I would much rather have sounds.
Swords clashing, groan and grunts, ambient sounds. To me the add much more to immersion than music.
I propose an idea. I thought it would be cool if someone would volunteer to incorporate some sounds into the game. Nothing fancy as it would be unpaved work (unless you feel enough for the game to make it fancy). Just like simple, place-holder, type sounds.
If it was possible for me to do so I would, but alas, I am on the graphics side of gaming. Would love to help there too, but college+home+keeping+a 5 year old girl= very little free time for me to help
And just to say: Since this is my first post, great game so far. Like whats featured already, and Love the idea as a whole.

First Chris has to buy a licence for a sound engine and probably find a dev for sound effects. Since he's making money out of this, most engines (if not all) ask for a part of the PlE. Even engines like Fmod which are used worldwide ask for around 500$ for a small budget game (and 3000$ or more for a medium/big budget game).
So i guess we'll have to wait right now until he thinks he has the money to do it.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

yeah he talked about it in the indiegogo campaign, it was a kind of a milestone he wanted to reach in terms of money to buy the sound engine. As said above, he can't put in sound even if it takes just minutes to do a basic background music thingy, because he needs the licence beforehand to be legally allowed to use the engine in a commercial way
