I played Kenshi quite a while back & I am returning as I see the game was released in Full. Wanted to ask some questions to see how the game mechanics pertain to these areas.

1) Is a plastic surgeon (NPC within game a certain locations) the only way to change/rename my other characters within my squads?

2) As I understand it there is a Max # of recruit to 30 (with out Mods), correct?

3) Pack animals still count towards the Max 30, correct?

4) An Un-Modded game has a finite number of recruitable characters, correct?

5) If I am *not* using a mod, does anyone know how many possible people that are recruitable in a Default/Un-Modded Game of Kenshi?

6) Factions: How can I find out what Factions think about other Factions (How does Faction A feel about Faction B)?

7) Does attacking a faction that another Faction likes damage the other factions' relations with me?
Example: If the Slave Traders like United Cities & I attack somebody from Slave Trader I will lose Faction with Slave Trader...but do i also lose faction with United Cities because they also like the Slave Traders?

8) It appears that if i am attacked by a Faction, then I 'defend' myself & thereby kill those people who attacked me, that it still damages my relationship with them, correct? Even if they started/initiated the combat, right?

9) If I kill everyone in a Fort/City, it was my understanding that they do *not* respawn? What about if I do not kill all (let's say I kill 1/2), do others respawn?

10) I recall talks about range & lots of other things hinted at. Is there a good (and up-to-date) youtube video showing the current state of the game/features that's concise?

1, correct
2. correct
3, correct all animals count.
4. incorrect, you can get more recruits by buying, freeing slaves though they only have a small chance of joining you.
5. 30 humanoids and animals.
6. there is no way.
7. it does not. but if you do so in view of the other faction then yes it will affect relations as they will join in on the fight.
8. it does.
9. you kill the population they will still in fact respawn but in smaller numbers until you kill it off completely, which is not as easy as you might think.
10, i'm not sure what you mean by range. as for showcasing, download the Demo.

I appreciate the answers.

In regards to Question #5
I was trying to get a better idea of the # of recruits I have "access to".

Looking at the wiki, it looks like recruits come in three flavors: Generic, Unique, Slave
https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Generic_Recruits
https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Unique_Recruits
https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Slave_Recruits

Unique are the easiest to understand as they are a one time specific character located in a specific place (or possible places) or obtain in a special manner. I can count them & they appear to be finite. That I get.

Slaves, I get as well after reading about it.

It is the Generic that i am still unclear about:
Do generic recruits have respawn/repopulate at Bars?
I cannot tell from the Wiki if I leave an area and return 10 days later would there be new ones?
If I recruit all of the recuitable characters in a Bar in a town & then come back weeks later....will new one(s) be available?

In regards to Question #10
I was referring to range weapons and other features. Since it was so long ago that I played, I was wondering if there were some good current/up-to-date Youtube videos covering the current state of the game/features.

thanks,

generic recruits are sjtu that. they have a set number that spawn in bars and some wander the cities. they do not respawn though once bought. hence why buying slaves was added so that you could have a endless supply of recruits.

as for videos. try biscuit dog.
or go onto steam and read the Kenshi and social Media pinned topic.

You can get a infinite amount of generic recruits, you just have to rename them when you buy them and then import your game so the game world repopulates and has them "respawn". It is the fastest way to get a large amount of characters.
