how do one cut of npc head for bounties? sometimes they die with all their parts intact. sorry noob question.

You don't, you carry the whole NPC to the police chief.

You get more money for them bringing them in alive.

what? dang...i prefer em dead and more money with more heads lol...guess i have to wait for someone to make the mod.

Ya know, it's like in real life. There's a bounty for a guy, also a poster with "WANTED" headline, so the clue is to take him alive to the law and let him face the prison. Killing him if there's nothing about on the poster would be a lynch, not a proper punishment for civilised people.

I guess head-hunting would be a fluffy alternative to bringing a wanted person alive, Kenshi world is grimdark after all and things like that reinforce crappyness of living it this setting. Would be especially fluffy if it was practiced in some regions only, while other parts of the world would mostly keep to the present system (I doubt places like United Cities relying heavily on slavery would prefer a proof that a bandit is dead over getting some extra free workforce to their camps / slaves for commerce).

You can't go wrong, adding variety. However in this case it seems to require to many changes to the present system, to be worth the effort. You would probably need a kill item inside inventory of NPCs (yeah, a head inside their equipment) which would allow you to finish unconscious enemies instantly. Kenshi game mechanics do not give player characters advantages over npc's, which would mean that your characters can be finished and killed permanently the same way.

If you want to go on a headhunt, there is a mod allowing you to loot heads from cannibal corpses, to get a reward afterwards from Cannibal Hunters.

Or you can go head hunting in the fog islands.
