I don't think so. Like after raiding a town, the town remains ghost town. You have to check other cities. If there's no single sword for hire to hire you have to import squad from the main menu. That should reset the game world or something. But beware  you shall lose all possible buildings you have build if you import.

You need to save before you import, but yes the 'new game import squad' option allows you to circumvent some of the games current short falls. Keep in mind this is an alpha. Taking the idea further I would suggest importing and grabbing the 2 guys in the starter town and then importing again until you have the full squad. This would be one of the fastest ways.

This seemed like the most logical place to put this without starting a new thread.

RE: swords for hire - will there be a way (eventually) to recruit general swordsmen / basic troops once the game is further in development? I like that at the minute, your swords for hire are like mercenary buddies, who you can personalize and be close with. There are also a limited number (at the moment) of them.

What I'm saying is that will there be way in the future of hiring just general nobodies who can do menial work within your faction eg: soldier, miner, builder. Also, will swords for hire come at different prices based on skills, and will they have factional disposition when they start eg: a merc who worked in the medic guild would have a high medics skill, at the additonal cost of cats.

I believe so. Chris has indicated that this will be the case.

He has gone as far as to say that you can then create an armour/weapon loadout (imagine like a design a spaceship from a 4X game) and then assign someone to that equipment loadout and they will go and pick up the equipment themselves from your stores. He has even said that he wants the AI to be able to realise if you don't have enough equipment and then go to the blacksmith and put in an order for the missing pieces and pick them up when they are done.

If he manages to pull this off then I will be a very happy man as micromanaging is not a fun task for any megalomaniac ruling over a large group of bloodthirsty killers.
