I used Wakizashi for Dex training in the same way as you did. The quick movement of the wakizashi and quick rise of the guard motion are made me one question.

-is real role are shield?

I know you all have an objection. There are minus to defense skills, and there are other weapons that have plus to defense skills. But if have enough defensive skills isn't it possible to cover?

But what about the basically motion speed?

I seemed it be related to the number of times to can be guard. Isn't it a problem that can not be overcome when attacked by multiple enemies?

This is where I felt the question. However, it is difficult to me confirm it as an actual inspection. In fact, the damage I receive is random, and if I do not kill the enemy quickly, the damage will eventually increase, and after thinking, this seems to me, as a useless thought as I...

That's why I decided to stop thinking. However, I be wanted to hear the stories of other players who loving Katana. How are they overcoming their weaknesses? There are various types of Katana, but how to use they used properly?

I always use katana on my main/favorite character. On every playthrough, I go to a certain city as soon as possible and steal a Meitou katana from a certain person. (I don't want to spoil anything.)

I think the motion speed makes up for all its weaknesses. Also the penalty vs armor is no problem, because the attack rate compensates the reduced damage. After reaching a high enough skill level there will be limbs flying all over

I have less experience with heavy armor enemies(Like UC Samurai) and I can not evaluate Katana in that regard. Many people who spoiling Katana, are targeted at their weaknesses in heavy armor and robots, and there are not many things that can be say from my experiences in that regard.

it is interesting that if skill are enough katana can compensate it weakness. I would like to bring up a character and try it for it.

I felt that Katana will need higher skills and Dex than others weapons. already I noticed that the character using Wakizashi wasn't getting more damage than expected. fast action can defend more attacks. but heavy armor are slows down those. its affinity are not good. it mean it all will relies on defense skills.

It may be that tendency also in the attack side.
