How do I move items on the ground? - Trying to place items on a shelf

Was trying to decorate my "Thieves' House" in my outpost by placing various 'treasures' on the shelf to make it more lively. I tried positioning my unit close to the shelf so the item drop would go into the shelf, but instead it gets dropped onto the ground. Tried going into game editor to have it manually moved, but sadly I can't find a way to move these items.

Does anybody know how to move these items so that my shelves are decorated with them?

there is no way to do it without the use of the FCS
and even that can be tricky.

It would be kinda awesome if dropped items behaved like objects you could move around ala sims style though.
