There should be like the option to discover ways to improve efficiency of buildings like the power output of the windmills or the rate of fire of harpoons and make discoveries that can either be nearly-useless or almost unnoticeable or that wold change the world greatly and be ground-breaking. Also what do you think about primitive exo-skeletons? Not like thoose huge robots of Killzone and other games, but like a cheap alternative to armor or ALOT more powerfull than armor, but alot more expensive than even a gold mine. I wold like to hear everyone's opinion of both about the scientific discoveries and the primitive exo-skeletons, because I have some doubts about the exo-skeletons but hear what you think and I also want to research more than just armor and ways to forge swords.I want to make a difference in the world of Kenshi in a different way, kinda like a "scientific" way. So now back to the main question, what do you think?

Also there should be like universities, schools, etc. in rich towns that allow you to increase your intelligence to so then you can get certain jobs that require more than just endurance and strengh. Yeah, maybe you should also have the option to build some of thoose and maybe orphanages to increase your reputation in the world. And an option to make a patrol route for people to guard the buildings and hell, you may even fund certain factions, buildings, etc. Oh my, I can already imagine the additional freedom.

Hell, you should even be able to tell lies to people to make them unhappy and make a revolt happen. You can be hired by lords to do this and you could make it to take revenge of someone. Many people have many personalities and can do many more things like smuggling, causing anarchy, assassination, etc. It doesn't mean that it's what you can become, but also what others can become. Some do it because they were hired, others do it because they enjoy anarchy and chaos. Maybe you should even be able to spread your own religion or other religions into town and make churches! Yeah, I can picture it more realisitc.

I have no idea what you said since my mind drifted off about halfway through your paragraph. But my reason for posting is to say that chris has already said that he plans on implementing research in the (near?) future. There will be a way to develop new armours and weapons, etc.

I think that is what you were saying. As for exoskeletons, i don't know what you mean. if you mean something like a robo-cop outer armour then I must disagree with that. I don't want mecha stuff walking around in this game. But then again, who knows....I might be in the minority here.

Yeah I had alot of doubt in the exoskeleton thing (no wonder), but I meant researching things that are not just items and buildings, things that can like change the world dramatically like a new architecture style or a new political or society system, change the way people think in the world, etc. or that woldn't affect the world much.

New architecture would be nice, but the main limiter would be the budget chris has to spend on 3d modelling. There may be other priorities right now.

As for ideologies and stuff about how people think, this is a game set within the lifespan of 1 person (ie. no one will die of old age) so new ways of thinking are not likely to come about realisticly.

I know i probably sound like some grumpy old twat in every thread I post in but I just have a head for things that make sense and don't really care about odd flights of fancy. So, forgive me if you were just sperging because you were excited about the game. I'm not really super negative, I just try and stay grounded in somehting that is likely to be possible/feasible rather than living in my imagination.

All I was saying is that I wold like to discover ground-breaking things that could be noticed in the world instead of improving stupid armor, shirts, weapons, etc. In other words, I wold like to make discoveries that aren't about warfare :I it wold be stupid if we could only research about warfare.

Ever heard of the flash game "Caravaneer"? Well I was inspired by the story intro at the begginning of the game.

U know... I ran into that game years ago and I thought it was great. Back then my only hope was that someone would make "real" game based on that.

When I saw Kenshi, the first thought that occurred to me that my dream has come true.

I can agree that it would be great if after some time there was a way of playing the game that didn't involve warfare. Currently you can play as a trader, but you still need to invest in martial prowess or you basically get your ass handed to you.

However, you shouldn't feel safe by doing this either - the world of Kenshi is a harsh environment, and so there should still be dangers when playing as a peaceful character, but maybe not so mortal as a sword stabbing.

Later on you can live in town, where you receive most of protection from guards so there's no need to fight much, and start a business. Then there's no need to invest on warfare.

I just don't want to fight just to survive, I want to do more, fighting a little for my life at the same time instead of picking fights for money.

Yeah, I can already see my own research center saying "iSuck345's Medicine/Physics research center"... I can imagine myself screaming at the students for being too lazy, talking in the class and throwing papyrus... Also there better be spiders! I'd like to see an abandoned building with some spider webs in like a swamp or some king of animal that takes the place of spiders in the different biomes.
