I can't seem to get this to work. The way I read it, it should mean things like bandit demands and random critters should be killed by my robot guards on the towers; however, they don't shoot. They all do have a clear angle on the the area around the gate, but they don't shoot. When, for example, a bandit demands comes by, I go there, select the squad, right click and select 'shoot enemy' or something like that, and they get mowed down like flies; however, I actively have to order them to shoot.

The same for enemies wandering into my base - whenever the gate is open, I find hungry/dust bandits, swamp ninjas and blood spiders wandering inside. These are clearly hostile by default, however the harpoon guards don't seem to mind.

Can anybody give me some advice how to get it done? The guards are set on ranged, have first aid, robotics and turret guard as their priorities, and are constantly in 'attack' mode, I think (the red background on their profile picture).

Two things I can think of. Either the factions don't have negative relations by default so you are not technically an "enemy" of them until the fighting starts, which would be resolved by simply fighting them some more.

Or your turret guards are distracted. You mentioned them always having the red background, this means they are in combat. Odds are they still see an enemy but can't shoot it. But because they're trying to attack that enemy, they won't shoot new ones unless ordered to.

Yep I can confirm that once your faction relationship is negative enough they will kill on site. Be careful because you can easily cause friendly fire when away from your base if turret guards are still there.

I recently figured out how to quickly switch from general jobs to turret guard duty by place turret guard at the top of the job list and using the passive button. make sure that isn't selected as well.

A somewhat related topic. Is there anyway to keep them from firing until them attack the gate? Passive will keep them from attacking at all correct?

Just a bit ago my guys auto attacked a Holy Nation faction I intend on destroying, but accidently hit a Shek faction I like who was fighting my enemy a good 150 yards away from my gate.

The result was the Sheks attacked me and now my faction rating has gone negative.

Is there a setting for only return fire/defend Vs attack enemy on site?

This would avoid friendly fire when liked factions are fighting enemies nearby.

don't put them on the turrets and make sure they don't have a turret job.
its pretty much the only way.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
