Hello, forum. I am a recent arrival to this game by way of Steam, and it has impressed me so much that I think I will share my experiences. This is kind of an informal bug report, too.
The Survivors: Once, while creating a character for The Survivors, I spent so long showing the impressive character customization options that the character I created got into a fight with bandits, and was killed. I had created a squad of two unconscious characters. That was a short story.
Later on: An old soldier made his living by luring groups of bandits to the city gates. After the guards had slaughtered them, he would carry their weapons and armor into town. He spotted a merchant caravan, crossing the desert, and asked to join up.
+I quicksaved+
The old soldier followed the merchants into the mountains. Then, they came to a place in the mountains that they couldn't walk through, and glitched out. A little freaked out, I took the old soldier towards town, but where there was once a town, there stood only two empty shops. Upon quickloading, I found the old soldier to spawn in the spot outside town where I had quicksaved, but this time the town was there. The caravan, however was gone.
Upon dying, I quit the game.
Upon loading, I found the option to import my squads, without buildings. Now, the old soldier spawned in the middle of the trade caravan.
Another time I got stuck in an invisible barrier.
Are NPC's unreliable in saved games? Am I encountering strange pathfinding bugs that no one has seen before?
Will we ever find bows and arrows in this game?
Tales of the Desert
Did you actually die or just get knocked unconscious? I had pretty much the same thing happen in my current game, but was 'rescued' by some holy soldiers and woke up a few minutes later and carried my friend to town limping the whole way. I thought it quite fitting with the provided storyline.[Old Soldier] wrote:The Survivors: Once, while creating a character for The Survivors, I spent so long showing the impressive character customization options that the character I created got into a fight with bandits, and was killed. This is a known bug, infact, I dont know of a caravan ever NOT glitching with you hired on as a guard.[Old Soldier] wrote: Then, they came to a place in the mountains that they couldn't walk through, and glitched out.
As for NPC's saving, I'm not too sure about that. I know dead bodies save, so I assume they would, but I have never really paid attention to other NPC's in the area.
Hmm i dont think every npc gets saved when u save the game at this stage.
Well when i found myself stuck in wall i quicksave quickload then i am often in the same town out off the wall :p and so do some of the npc's , as for enemies that are just unconsiousness or w/e
they are running around when u quickload, poeple ur carrying will be on the ground, uhm and "patrolls" will be nowhere to be seen. and every action ur character is doing before the qload will be stopped so u have to reassign everything again .
I assume these things have already been reported and beeing worked on.
So dont worry, these will be sorted.

WAR...WAR!!!!!!!
I am not sure WHAT has caused this to happen, but there is a HUGE war between the hungry bandits and the sand bandits. There is literally DOZENS of them just outside of my town, they are fighting to the death and new waves of them are approaching. There are multiple squads of a dozen men each engaging each other, there are so many bodies!
I want to go in there and start looting but there is still so many of each side, it would be pretty dangerous to move out that way. Not to mention the scope of this battle is so large that if I leave the town even to go about 300 meters into the edge of the fray, I risk getting side flanked by another battalion.
This all started when I was getting waves of about 8 to 10 guys rushing into my town. Now this was common. However, the second wave, third, and forth all came within a couple mins of me killing the last of the prior waves. Granted all my guys were alive and bandaged, but no one has time to take a quick nap to heal that yellow back into green. Part of me is excited! This is amazing to see both factions having at it right on the edge of my town. Problem is, both factions HATE me... but they hate each other as much so for the time being, they fight each other. But then they keep on pushing up into my town.
However, like all wars, at first the excitement is thrilling! But now, the attrition is starting to set in, I really want to get back to making rum and selling a few things into the neighbor NPC town, but I can't risk doing that until I deal with the massive influx of enemies. I do not think I can exaggerate this when I say, there are more enemies in this one huge battle going on than I have seen in all the battles I have fought in the days up to this. I hope that made sense. I did get a couple screen shots that I will try to upload from steam when I get home if people want to see all the little bodies having at it. It is just far enough away I couldn't zoom in and see as much detail as I would like, however, you can see all the little black tick lines that represent a single unit. Many are dead but many are not, and more are on the way!

In the year 2065 the amount of cat pics on the internet will eclipse the amount of porn pics.
