This game. It is amazing.

Disclaimer: I dunno if this counts as a "gameplay experience" or not. I assumed it did, but maybe it should've gone in General... Sorry in advance if this is the case!
I just... I have to share this. I don't know why, I'm just giddy.
Kenshi was the first early access game I ever bought, and to be honest, I never expected an alpha would be this fun! It was fun from the outset, even as I had to continually restart after being wiped out. But recently, I've learned the very basic point that backpacks reduce combat abilities, and you can store backpacks in chests you own.
I now have a squad of 11 men, most of which are outfitted with swords made by my own smith, with 8-12 attack skill each (and the Old Soldier, who's at 25+ in everything
), with my best fighters wearing armor looted off of dust bandits. I have a humble little outpost going and I've defended it successfully more than once.
Words cannot describe the amount of pride I felt as I realized all that just now.
After so many failures, to FINALLY establish a proper foothold... It just feels incredible. I'm sure there are others here who have felt this even moreso, starting with only one man and little wealth! (I started with a small band and 1000 c., I like to go easy on myself...)
It's gonna be even better in a few weeks when I get to customize every man in my squad. As I really dive into this game, most of which has been crafted by one man all by himself, I realize how amazing Chris is. Extreme props to him for his vision and hard work. I definitely need to get some donation money built up.
... All that said, you can lose it all in an instant if you're not vigilant. I can't rest on my laurels, lets a small army of 15 dust bandits raid me and kill half my squad. Back to the game with me!
