Mass Combat

This is my first time posting in these forums, so if I'm doing anything wrong feel free to tell me.
On to the situation, I have been seeing people asking for Multi-threading so that we can have larger armies in-game and improve game performace, my question in here is if there are any news about new character stats before the introduction of Multi-threading, like mass combat (my take in this is the ability to handle more than 2 or 3 opponents at once).
I'm only asking this since it seems that we should have the ability to handle more opponents before we had bigger armies, I'm not playing kenshi like as a regular gameplay right now since I'm trying to make a lone type of character than can handle a massive number of opponents and later on with tactics and smart positioning be able to handle more than 20 guys since there will be a limit to the number of opponents in the area around me (They need to circle me). If Multi-threading is introduced earlier than mass combat it will be harder for me and even normal parties of kenshi characters to fight against overwhelming odds without the ability to handle more than 2 or 3 guys at once.

I'm sorry for my english (From Portugal here) and if my ideas aren't very concise, if I can explain better or if you didn't get something I'll try to explain it in a reply.

Multi-threading has to be added first before mass combat is added due to the fact that most players computers can't handle that much information going on at once on a single core. For it would cause mass game lag and most likely break the ability of the game to even play.

I have modded my game to where nearly all patrols are around 20 people each. Hungry bandits to around 30 for the giggle factor. On my computer i only notice a slight drop in performance but areas take longer to load than normal. If mass armies were added. it would take my Super Kittah Computer of Doom down to its knees whimpering.

Not sure when Multi-threading will be added. mostly because Chris has said if he starts working on it, the next update won't be out for a while cause its gonna be a lot of work to do. I think he is trying to get the core part of the game in first before he works on that.

So you got time to train your character up.

I'm not sure but I think there was a disabled skill "mass combat" or something like that. Not quite sure about the exact name... Anyway, I think he's referring to the skill. I think he wants the mass combat skill to be implemented so that it's more reasonable to fight big armies, BEFORE the actual big armies would be implemented. That's how I understood at least. Might be completely wrong as well which would be humiliating.

I'm on the side of Multi-threading actually because nowadays I'm mostly playing with a laptop since I'm not really home that much (due to the military service) and it's no gaming laptop really. Mostly designed to be used in work and study and such and the performance is getting pretty bad on me. It limits my time with Kenshi because I can't just open Kenshi for 10 minutes at a time, I wouldn't really accomplish anything in that time partially because of the lag. To play Kenshi properly I need few hours, beer, pastry and empty bucket to do my business. Of course, it is not entirely the lags fault because it is pretty time consuming game but it still kind of raises the "requirements" to play.

I was indeed talking about the skill, and since I have seen your opinion and the one of the poster before you, I start to understand the advantages Multi-threading the need it as right now which allows me to say that I aggree with the idea that Multi-threading should come first, I just wish that when Multi-threading comes it won't take too long for some skills to be developed and implemented since with bigger armies we must approach the game more carefully and with more skills we will have the capacity to respond differently as in the case of the Mass Combat skill

A good take on mass combat skill, I hadn't thought of it that way. My assumption was it would allow larger groups to fight more efficiently. As of now if you have a large squad, only one or two will actually engage any given enemy, the rest just stand by at the ready.

I'd imagined that increasing this skill would allow them to see more attacks of opportunity and better use your numbers offensively. Perhaps it will wind up being both? That'd be nice I think. Anyway, I agree, the skill should probably be implemented before the larger groups. I'm beginning to get a little antsy to see more on the plans for these skills soon anyway.
