Hello guys. Maybe there is not a bug, so I will post it there. Can somebody tell me how can I escape from cannibal camp? They caught my character this morning and now he is sitting in one of their cages and can't escape. "Escape from cage" button is nor working and other characters can't open his cage. Maybe there are some keys/lockpicks?

I haven't had a character taken yet, but have you tried right clicking and selecting "unlock" or "pick lock" (can't remember what it says) on the cage itself with a different character not captured? Sometimes you have to fast forward time until it says "picklock" success as it takes a while for a character to unlock a cage. Might want to have backup just incase others come, as their AI basically leave and come back with prisoners, so sometimes the camp is empty then tons of them show up.

After that, maybe try right clicking on the cage or character inside the cage and see if you can pick him up, or select your imprisoned character and try moving him.

I've been super careful not to get captured by cannibals but I had two new recruits almost get captured because when my people went down the cannibals immediately scooped them and ran away so I had to chase them down and I ran into a bigger group of them by their village and had to battle it out for my people.

You can right-click the cage by selecting the character that was captured and try to pick the lock of the cage, but the sad thing is, once you try to step outside your character will be stuck foever or until you reload, so make sure you get your game saved just after breaking free. On the other hand as soon as the game reloads start runing like a little girl because canibals will chase you.

cannibals are unable to escape from their own cages. After sacking a camp, i stuffed the survivors inside the cages to prove a point.

Furthermore, you can cook the dead in their own ovens. nothing happens from this other then the body disappearing, which makes clean up a snap.

Another thing. If i pick the lock of a cage with a prisoner in it, the prisoner does not escape. I do not know if this is a bug, or if its just unfinished. I am assuming that its unfinished.

Same here, i was able to release a dead cat and he just stood there aimless, while a patrol fellow waited for him close to the jails.

So far, the best way to rescue people from the cages is to unlock them and pick them up if they are knocked out. This makes collecting bounties easy, but makes rescuing traders and others very hard. Hopefully this will be fixed for when diplomacy arrives.

Have you tried loading the game with "Reset Squad Positions" checked?

I am not talking about rescuing people in my squad, but NPCs. like: holy servants, caravan guards, traders, samurai, adventures guild and dead cat mercs. people who you do not want to start a faction war with. Granted, there is not point in rescuing them now, with the exception of trapped traders, because you want those guys trading.

besides, its pretty easy to escape from the cages now, and its good lockpick training. Though sometimes i do get stuck in the cage. But when that happens, i just have someone pick me up and carry me away.

Oh... I was responding to the original comment... didn't see it was pretty old. Probably long since resolved. Thought it was a new post... I should break my habit of checking the forums here as son as I wake up and right before going to bed... my brain gets rather foggy around those times. XD
