Question About Moving My Outpost

Hello Everyone,

I've been playing Kenshi for about 2 weeks now and I love the game. I'm currently playing the experimental branch and except for few crashes every 5 hours or so (or when I hook walls to gates) the game runs like a champ. I love it!

I built my town in the canyon South East of the Cannibal village way back in where the entrance is skinny and then it widens out. I've got the research tree maxed, plenty of materials and making lots of chainmail, Katanas, and leather turtlenecks to sell in my store which has 3 large counters full of lots of stuff to buy.

However no one visits my town. It makes me wonder if I built too far away from the other towns or if the traders and adventures won't go into the area due to having to pass through cannibal patrol areas. Heck, even the bandits have never come demanding money every month.

So I am looking at relocating the town closer to the other towns. As I'm tired of selling my good for paltry sums in other towns. I want the customers to pay me at my store for full price.

My question is - If I tear down everything at the current town and move will the outpost marker on the map update and will the game AI recognize the move and start coming to my town?

Thanks,

Alan

Trading is more or less broken at this time.
so it wont help you if you relocate.

Thank you for the quick reply!

I guess I'll just leave the outpost where it is and keep sending out my 4 man trade team whenever I need cash.

the new pathing engine should fix it plus any issues with bandits and stuff.
we will see when its finally finished though.

Tip: you can have more than one outpost, so there's no reason for you to try to move your existing one.

I did not know you could have more than one outpost. That is sweet.

One more question - will you ever be able to 'rent' a building in a NPC town? I think that would be helpful for the early stages of the game or for setting up your own store in game.

Rent a building? No, but you can buy buildings from npc cities and build things inside them ;)

Yes, you can buy buildings in a NPC town. Left click on a door to a building you want, then in the lower left of the UI, there should be an option to purchase it.

It is a known bug. It may be fixed with the new pathfinding.
