Sorry, you can't rename for now but you will in the future. I'll add some kind of plastic surgery shop like in saints row.

I tried opening the save to check it out but couldn't find anything useful after a minute or 2. So gave up. But my guess is that is where you want to check for now.

If you start messing with the save, don't forget to make a backup of your charas...

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

Changing all refrences doesent work if you forget one the name changes back and if you get them all it just crashes. tried it a while ago

Never mind my last comment you can change your character name using a Hex editor.

All spaces in the name must be Hex id 20 NOT 00.

If you want to change the size of the name (string size) you must change an integer (that in hex) that is located 4 chacters before the name, Example:

Size(threespaces)name
Real Value: 10 SilentHill
In hex: 0A,00,00,00,53,69,6C,65,6E,74,48,69,6C,6C

I could add a space in my name by changing it so:
Real Value: 11 Silent Hill
In hex: 0B,00,00,00,53,69,6C,65,6E,74,20,48,69,6C,6C

There should be three refrences to each character name, just find each one and edit it in a hex editor, make sure there there all the same.

Edit: Guess i should mention that this editing should be done in the file named "Nameless_0.platoon", in the quicksave folder. I always copy over the current as well but i dont think that is necessary.

Is it still impossible to change names of your recruits in non-hex way? I dislike the idea of having ten "Sword for Hire" around my only named guy.

Indeed there is. Mr SlilentHill created this mod for this purpose. You can also change appearance which I strongly recommend playing with.
