Question about Forts

Ok, so when we have the option to build forts, do we have to micro manage the defenses? Will I be able to just assign some of my troops to the fort and they will auto-defend it, or will i have to do that myself? Or better yet, both should be an option. But if im managing my troops in the field I dont wanna have to micromanage my defenses at the fort to. And if we can assign troops, will they be able to roam around the the troops the NPCs use?

Micro-management for the overall base would be a yes, but because the turrets are stationary any assigned units would stay with the turret. If implemented, Group patrols would probably be set with waypoints.
