Hey, I made a video on how to get strenght.
It's not too easy to be considered an exploit, also you need a certain amount of people for that to work as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCnYimGrIOY
I got a character from few points in strenght to 50 in about a little more than a week or so.
How to train strenght efficiently

I have a more on the job approach.
New recruits always get the back packs and do the looting.(It sucks to be the new guy)
And when the fighting is over everyone picks up a body and carries it to the next location.
Just drop them before the next fight starts.
Another thing for new recruits is that I will set them to block and taunt. They will draw more attackers to themselves, develop their defense and toughness by getting the tar knocked out of them, while my better fighters take out the rest of the opponents. (rub some dirt on it and get back in there)
But hauling stones around works too.

Wow...
that detail can be thought as RP already, never seen it in that way
^^
Tribe name: Roamers
Habit: Abduct unconscious peoples from the battlefield to the next fight as decoy ( who knows why exactly, i will never know)
Mentionable: uses Recruits in Battlefields "Hauling Meatbags*" as initiation ritus until they manage to slain their first enemy alone.
Which represents their Rank in the Tribe, their main tasks as freshman are looting everything valuable from the Battefield to vaule their life in the tribe as investment. With their Goal to archive higher standing in the clan which can only be archived through the sole death of an outspoken enemy of the Tribe with only their own strenght. Due this habit which persists even these days, we can see overzealous young man who tries to compete again more than one enemy at all with Taunting.
does it cover up the spirit or do we need to change a lot ?
btw: you may add a 2nd weapon in his slot

If you can get a shopkeepers back pack, then you can fill that with a bunch of the traders large backpacks.
Fill those with crap....
I do this for my"rum runs" where i ship booze to a particular town. whoever does the running, gets super strong fast.

Or do chainmail runs for higher profit and higher mass, and using sneak to further extend the time on the move and reduce risk of engagement for strength gain. Apparently, through my observations, strength gain through encumbrance tops out at 17% rate, but grows on the time spent moving, regardless if it's walk or run. That resulted in one of my units getting the first ~10 strength points making a short distance, but time consuming run between two towns.philthymcnasty wrote:I do this for my"rum runs" where i ship booze to a particular town. whoever does the running, gets super strong fast.

That's good for the beginning, albeit it's kind of annoying...swillo wrote:I have a more on the job approach.

The method I showed is harder to achieve, because you need an actual base for it, but you can pretty much do little to no clicking on it.

Oh yeah, I could add a second weapon, but frankly I don't think a katana would make much difference, too light.
Maybe a heavy one-handed club...? Yeah, that could work.

Just remember you need to walk in order to train strength by encumbrance.philthymcnasty wrote:If you can get a shopkeepers back pack, then you can fill that with a bunch of the traders large backpacks.

I found trading to be really ineffective to train strength walks on this game. Also, there's no real good item sold on shops that can train strength and stack well, unless we are talking about metal stuff.
In my opinion, they're just too damn expensive. Also, it's much easier to just build a damn base and hoard some raw iron stones.
P.S : Are you sure about either walking or running? I tested myself and I am pretty sure walking speed makes training much easier.

last time i played i didn't intentionally train strength but i decided to try something different, an gave some Sabers, with heavy armour. since the idea was kinda use them to keep the majority of enemies busy since i kinda like watching duels. so i'd set them to block an taunt.
but when they weren't fighting since they were so slow i just assigned them to work the stone processor, the stone mine was about 100 or more yards away so they were forced to work on their athletics an strength to do their job.
seemed to work okay but it was quite slow >.> but in the real world that would of been very effective! >.>
but mostly just ensure they have a heavy load. Medium works for improving strength to , but it doesn't work as quickly i don't think.

Honestly, the best training for strength, is a heavy weapon.
because its not just strength, its multiple skills.
Its attack, defense, toughness, athletics, and a little bit of dexterity.
But yeah, putting guys to work, while they are in heavy armor, and having the processors far away, is great.
sure its in efficient, but it after several days, your squad will be used to moving in heavy armor. and this will allow them to move and block quickly in combat.

Ah, yes, the enjoyable pass-time of beefing up.
Dare I humbly coin the term for conversation's sake:
BAGCEPTION
An initial great idea, as was already mentioned, was putting bags inside of bags inside of bags etc... with end-bags results having some weighty objects.
The size of bag(s) you can afford just diminishes the layers of bag-depth you have to go through, while increasing the width of your bag-tree inventory nightmare, making Resident Evil inventory systems look like a walk in the park. What I like about it is you can equip or de-equip your bag(s) from Inventory to backpack slot for a 50% - 100% weight ratio change, so if they need to keep up a certain pace, those with the more tedious Bagception smarts can gauge the best Backpackweight:Inventoryweight ratio if you have to keep up with additional units.

^MRW when trainers have to haul ass away from impending threats.
Hopefully they dont fix the Bagception "exploit" for a while
And this is all before Bagception "exploiting" becomes ""fixed"".
Another method I find that can bump up the Strength Training (Movement) ratio up to 35% (seems to be the maximum from what I've seen) Is just carrying around bodies. If you don't have any corpses laying around, just grab a teammate that could use a break and tote them around. Bagception works well here, as the weight on the carried subject also adds (though I don't believe their inventory weight reflects 1:1 to the carrier) to the "fun". Be wary, Bagception might have to be altered to increase a run-speed:exp efficiency ratio, as incredulous three-figure kg's inventory changes didn't seem to boost the Strength Training (Movement) beyond 35%, while Run Speeds did indeed slow down on the higher weight(s).
Important Caveat, which I did not realize before reading through this topic, was that Strength (Movement) exp gain seems most likely independent of your speed at all, I.E. it's not about the Distance, just about the Time spent moving.
Depending on your situation, you may want to move a few units faster or slower, but you'll still probably be capped out at 35% either way.
