hi, i just registered so i hope i'm not posting in the wrong section or something that has been asked already. i tried to look for the info but i'm either very bad at looking or it's not written around. So.
Is there an ETA for the building\creating a town\doing permanent stuff to the world yet?
Is it like days, weeks, months?
That's the feature i think i'd like most, to be able to build my little outpost and kill everything that passes nearby xD

Not yet, I think grass is the current major update goal. He is working on aesthetics. And not sure but perhaps multi-threading is the goal after that. So could be a few months before building / outposts /bases are even considered.

Multithreading has been described as at least a month of work. Its a big job.

The thing with building bases is that there is nothing to support it yet. He needs to build everything from the ground up. So firstly would be some sort of resource collection. Permanent locker storage (this is even needed in order to buy a building in town) not to mention figure out what the point of having a base is for. So that means beds need to become usable. I suspect he will continue to focus on the medical system once multithreading is done. Get beds to a useable state and make it so that you can't just use the same guys all the time because the healing time is really long. Once that is done you begin to develop a need to have a permanent place to rest your guys.

Until then....have to wait. Actually running a faction could take many months more, if not into next year. Depends on how much work he can do by himself and if he outsources. This is definitely a long term project you have invested in.

ah, i see. that really sounds like a lot of work for one person alone :\ my empire of stabbity-stab will wait until it'll have to wait xD btw, is the game programmed in which language? C, Java?

neither am i, but im pretty sure it isnt java. could be wrong though

this update is going to have a lot of bug fixes as well as grass. i believe he is going for current smooth gameplay before the next big gameplay feature update. pretty sure its going to be multi threading (i would want something else first... like some basic missions or tougher factions first to give us more to play with.)

it is definitely a huge project he got himself into. so patience is key.

Indeed. It can join the list of things I am waiting for. Actually, I find that having a whole bunch of things I really want is easier to wait for because there is a steady stream of things being released =)
This one is far down the list though....

I can just imagine this comment out of context. Its kinda sad when people can be this excited about grass. Maybe we all need lives? 8-)

i'd like some more stuff to do than killing bandits randomly too. right now i enjoy it as i'm putting together a squad but i fear it would get old fast once my team is together and i'm done with the training :(

It does. I haven't played since the last update. I don't want to burn out, but am looking forward to coming back in the near future for the grass.

Starting a new game might be fun but I have become attached to my squad and don't want to lose them. Either I will copy and paste the save files out or make a new install somewhere.

Some extra save slots would be nice
