I saw today on Trello Otto placed the combat style as left foot back, right foot forward *always*.
Can I ask if there is any specific reason for this, as I practice Kendo and see many including myself take the opposite footwork for one reason or another.

Just curious as to why they've chosen to not allow the mirrored kamae

I'm betting it's probably helpful for timing and syncing the animations between actors.

That's the thing, if they include a jodan stance it would make it a tad daft. Considering it would mean the magic swapping of hands of the weapon in choice to make the foot work work.

Adding more combat animations is going to divert developers attention from more important issues like game balance and the like. Perhaps if they wanted to add it in the later stages, they should get some of us forum dwellers to draw up some spreadsheets for them to work off.
It'd need details for each fighting style that's implemented and corresponding animations for each combination styles that duel with each other.
I bags not it. I don't know squat about martial arts or swordplay.
