Fragment Axe vs Plank

Which one is better?
According to my tests the Plank is simply better. (except for strength training and knocking things out without killing them)
Does Fragment Axe get better than Plank with maxed skills or is it better before 70~ combat stats?
At 70~ combat stats it was outclassed big time.
Plank swings about twice as fast and does about the same damage.

I tested by dismissing my main character and fighting the other squad members.
The duel was done by copy-pasting my main character and alternate which one I dismissed.

In the mass combat tests the Plank won versus the 10 other members of my squad 3 to 1 while the Fragment Axe lost 0 to 3, so it's not even better in big fights.

I might have messed up item quality for the Fragment Axe, it was the best one you can craft while the Plank was the best Edgewalker.
Some preliminary tests were done with the best homemade Plank vs Homemade Fragment Axe but the results were the same, 5-0 or something like that for the Plank in a duel between identical characters.

I agree. The plank is a far better weapon. Faster swing, and more damage since it uses both dexterity and strength in its calculations.

The long cleaver is an excellent weapon too. Very similar qualities.

My stats are 94 str and 82 dex

An edge 5 fragaxe deals about 270 damage. However, the swing speed is terrible at about 0.6x.

An edge 5 Long Cleaver or Plank does about 250.
Slightly less damage, but attack speed of 0.97x more than makes up for it.

I am going to have to include one or two cleavers in my squad.
How's the range on the cleaver, does it actually cleave well? haha

They cleave the **** out of everything. Slightly more cut than a plank with slightly less blunt. Range like a ringed sabre, but it has that baseball bat swing that ends lives. Also, I think it's the sexiest weapon in the game. But that's just me.

I wish the long cleaver hacked more and didnt make me feel like im watching a little league game. In that regard I say plank all the way. Especially in mass combat.
