I thought chris mentioned that shadows would come with the foliage system somewhere, oh well. I hoped there would be a little more content with this update too, ima reinstall the game just to see the pretty things but i doubt it will entertain for long with no new features.
edit: after playing for a bit ive noticed that grass doesnt even appear if your zoomed out past a certain point. There really should be a setting for this, i have a beastly computer that will be able to render all the grass it needs to, i dont want it to dissapear abruptly if i zoom out slightly. The rock objects clash with the terrain and pop in instantly too.

you can adjust the graphics/foliage settings in settings.cfg

chris, could you explain how to do that? do we have to decrease or increase the numbers to see foliage further away and all?
actually, also, what about other settings? what does modifying them (increasing/decresing) does?
foliage looks great, i want to see it all around from far away!

1.0 is the default. set it to 2.0 and it will be visible twice as far away. same with density, can be doubled or halved with these numbers.

the only critique i have is some of the jagged rocks jut out from unnatural looking positions. and the randomly placed boulders do not look..... very realistic.
this is just my opinion though. i do think the grass and the trees look AMAZING!

How do I download it again? I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the pop-up when I opened the game. The auto-patcher isn't working?

Chris doesn't have the bandwidth necessary to update the game through the normal means of the auto updater. So you'll have to download the new .exe (called kenshi 0.22.0) it's about 600mb.
In the future Chris will have dedicated servers for that, but right now the only method is to re-dl the game.
edit> i'll be a friendly for once

here's the link to the .exe

One other item that Chris could look at due to bandwidth is to make it into a torrent.
As more and more of us get the latest patch, it will be available from more sources.
Maybe a future plan could be to build into Kenshi (or s sister app that runs beside it in the background) is a torrent program purely for Kenshi to allow us to share it with each other.
I would much rather see the money Chris earns go towards important stuff like development, assets and food rather than paying for a server rental

Much appreciated good sir.
EDIT: Well that sucks. I can't donload it. Even when I go to the main Lo-fi page and try the link there. Whats up? Anyone else having the trouble?

Why can't you download? Is there an error message, or is it because of your region?

for whoever has it on desura, though, i think it updates properly on itself

You can still download it for free from desura or gamersgate, but I'd like to know why if some people can't download it

Can we still get a torrent version somewhere?
Currently deployed in Afghanistan and the internet isn't nearly as good out here as it is back in the States, so anything above 100mb is almost impossible to download.
I'd appreciate it!

I click the link and the page half opens with white everywhere and the icons all lined up in a weird column on the left. When I click the download button I get this after a few seconds of load time.
This webpage is not found
No webpage was found for the web address:
http://media1.gamefront.com/guploads/20 ... b&ext=.exe
Error 6 (net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND): The file or directory could not be found.
I am using Google chrome if that is an issue. Will try it with IE next.
EDIT: No success. IE gave no error message but just sits there indefinitely. Doesn't make sense since I downloaded the game once before from my exact location. My interwebs is working for everything else. No idea what is happening.
