Secondary weapon?

My character never seems to use the weapon in the secondary weapon slot.
My character hasn't had his arms broken, but he's fought while carrying another character, and it's a bit silly to see him swinging his Plank with one arm, instead of choosing to use the Katana in his secondary weapon slot, which would be a lighter option.

Can anyone enlighten me about this concept of the secondary weapon slot?

It's currently for having a weapon on your waist rather than on your back. Other than that it's extra inventory space.

second weapon slot is for when your main weapon arm is damaged to the point its no longer usable.
the Game should then use your second weapon slot in the other hand.

it also comes into effect if you are using a large weapon and have your hand full carrying someone. then you will use the smaller weapon one handed.

As I mentioned in my original post, my character has been swinging his Plank (which is a heavy weapon) one handed, while carrying someone. That is also the main reason I even made this topic, due to it looking rather silly.

Right now, there shouldn't be any way that your character uses their secondary weapon. Unless it's the only weapon they have equipped. There are good reasons to use it, but none of those have been implemented. Don't quote me on this, but I do believe they plan on implementing times when these weapons are used, but right now it is not.

Also, this topic has been posted several times. Please in the future, use the search bar to find a topic similar to your current question. I know because I have looked it up a few times myself. Thank you.
