Hello,
I wrote two similiar posts before but I got no answer so I try a third time, because I am really stuck.
I try to build a town with the Map Editor. I can place buildings withot any problems. But when I save them and click a house in the Map Editor to choose the interior layout they just get deleted. Or they vanish, I dont know. Sometimes I have crashes after selecting a building via mouse click but mostly the building just vanishes.
I also tried to select them before ging into the map editor and the interior layout popup is there but in this way I cannot choose a layout.
I really have no clue what the problem is. Maybe the solution is so simple that all of you think I am an idiot but if that is the case give the idiot a hint, please.
Thanks
PS: Maybe there is a simple way to select the buildings without a mouse? Or a way to change the controls in the Map Editor? Give me a hint. ))

the full system to create a town Mod is not in game yet.
when you make one you are changing your gamaedata.base. and this carries over to every single save you have unless you make backups of your data folder.

Sadly I feel your pain UBoot as I get this all the time myself.
I have so far created two towns...trying to work them into the game and testing what I am getting out of them with changes.
I had on my first town the ability to click on the interior listing and change what the building was going to be - bar, shop, etc. and it changed before my eyes.....other times...all I see is click delete...just like you get.
I cannot recall how I managed to find that interior working menu to actually work...I can see it at times but it has NOTHING inside it and you cannot get any house to be selected properly to show the interior style.
I am placing new town and then seeing what I get if I change the faction controlling it....my town has x amount of houses already placed that are technically empty and depending on faction, you see some become bars, others shops, etc. but some stay the same unoccupied houses named whatever the default house name is...I do not understand how works....then toss in Default Resident or Resident....and sometimes you see additional building getting utilized...other times not - slave shop, power station, hospital, etc.
Have to keep messing with it and figure this stuff out and hopefully target how the houses are utilized and setup with the faction and other tags working....same with roaming squads or bar squads... it is just not very intuitive right now...especially with the in-game construction kit.

Bah, I thought I had fixed that buildings being deleted bug. Apparently not.
Try pressing delete a few times before trying to select the building just to make sure the game doesn't think delete is held down for some bizarre reason.
Oh and Hatsune_Neko, modding towns doesn't touch gamedata.base any more. I have been meaning to correct you on that for a while. The town data is stored in data/newland/leveldata in a folder for the selected mod.
