Hello,
I'm currently planning on creating custom animations for the game, however i've searched throughout FCS and the game files but cannot seem to find anything linked to implementing custom animations. So I was just wondering if this was possible to use with the current creation kit or if not could it be possible to be added for Modders like myself? it would really open up new possibilities of creation and as I have access to a MoCap suit, I would really love to see the results that I can put into the game.
Many thanks,
Kyi
Custom Animations
Here is a quick overview of animation modding:
Import the male_skeleton.mesh and female_skeleton.mesh files into blender to access the animation data to add/edit character animations. New animations must be added to both. Animations are actions listed in the NLA editor.
In the FCS, animations are separated into 'animation', 'animal animation' and 'combat techniques'. New animations must be added to one of these to be seen by the game. The 'anim name' property is the name of the action in blender.
Combat techniques are chosen by the type and filters in their properties.
Animal animations are referenced by the animal character objects.
Character animations are either referenced by a building functionality, or referenced directly by the game.
There is currently a limitation that the files containing animations can only be overridden meaning animations can't be changed in multiple mods. There are plans to address this at some point.
I hope that helps you get started.

Cheers Someone, I appreciate the reply and information.
I've been playing with animations for a while, I can't find out why almost all animations are broken when exporting the skeleton mesh.
I did try to just import -> export, same result.
My animation works fine, it's the vanilla ones that get messed up. Could you take a look?
Using blender.
