Is there any such thing? I remember seeing a post that I can't find where someone had 500 men.

No - it's hard coded.

Testing start-profile, hence the money; Now I proceed into the desert to feed my children.

700 Cannibals + leader/me, FYI.

edit; I went 1000.

I imagine that's almost unplayable then, since you can't split them into separate units without having done so in the beginning, isolating the first 20 so you could split them up as best as possible into 20 separate groups of 20 (which is still incapable of supporting 1k), and then using them as you see fit. I think I'd rather no have 1000 people if that'd be the hassle. However, if you managed to fix those issues, THEN we'd have something to talk about.

Good for you. But thats a game start not a squad limit disabler. You can't start a normal game and recruit more than 20 people. Or 22, i forget.

I was joking! XD
The framerate with 700 and 1000 at lowered graphics was too choppy for this new comp.
I had to split them apart over a region to get good framerate back,
but then the squad box becomes useless as you describe.

300 seems a reasonable limit when having many squads.
(600 in one spot is when my fps went bad)
Wouldn't want to make the game any easier with better hardware.

There's that locked menu named "Squads", I think it's obvious what it's meant for, right?

Simply expanding the squad box would make it too big and/or clumsy to control,
though a "folder" system with Leaders similar to what the NPCs have, I think would work.

What mod is this exactly? Like where can I find it?

I am sad =\
who thought up this limit in 20 people?
if we are talking about a building, 20 - is even less than nothing.
no sense to play further while this number won't be somehow increased.

It was lowered to 20 until optimization got better I believe, it will be upwards of 200 later on plus Workers/slaves when you need to run a faction. Right now 20 is enough to do what you need to do in the game with a few guys napping around your village in case enemies wander over.

Yep, you have to create a new starting scenario to get more than the limit.

The combat system gets broken somewhere between 30 and 100 squadies though - in that most of your squad stands around looking stupid, while the enemy literally hits around 20 people with each swing.

Hopefully Marilous is right that it'll get optimised so we can have 20 squads instead of 20 squaddies.
