Hello, I'm new to this game and have been liking it Except for the fact that there is almost noway other than running around with someone on your back or literally throwing yourself into a group that just decimates yours. So I decided to work in the construction set, I'm not new to something like that and found it very similar to another game. But found little ability to be flexible with the design I was working with. I'm making a new faction called the fighter's guild (name pending). That consists right now of two kinds of people wandering trainers that if you give food to, or pay so they can get a meal will spar with you. and an in town trainer who sits at the police station and waits for someone to train.

What I mean by flexibility is I can't seem to find an area to script or add scripts to. And what I'd like to do is make a script so that the trainer doesn't end up killing you out of spite. Adding something like a damage indicator would seem easy(not saying it is) if I new how to add scripts to the game so that when the trainer or trainee get really low they end the fight and part ways.

Other than that I'm loving this game, it's really enjoyable I thought it was going to be like mount and blade in a way and was completely wrong in a good way. (not saying mount and blade is bad;I love that game too). I can't wait for full release.

I've attached what I have so far, It's no where near ready for use. But if someone want's to take a look at it and give me a few pointers on how to clean it some, or maybe yell at me for obliviously missing something. Mind the name, I'm also thinking about adding more training dummies and other things later on.

What i think that you could do is under the factions in the construction set, you change the attack defensively and defeat defensively numbers to zero so that when the trainers attack you and you fight back, they won't start to hate you, and put a medkit in the trainer's inventory so that if you get defeated by him, he'll just heal you and be on his way. hope this helps.
Because why not.

The dialogue looks okay!

My go at the Faction and Stats.

You might want to give them a custom blunt weapon suitable for this,
so they don't cause fatal damage to clients.

I haven't tried this yet, but it may be possible to allow business while they're hostile,
providing the option to stop the sparring whenever.

Another thing I'd try is to make 2 different trainers, one for attack and the other for defense.
Set the attack trainer's "attack someone" to -100 and their "attack someone defensively" to 100,
then the opposite for the defense trainer.
I imagine this would reverse their disposition when the client toggles Block?
Might only count the first time though...

The advice given is spot on, does anyone know how to give the character a spawn location and have them hold position without breaking their AI goals? Or is it something I should test by spawning them in a certain location and then just change their behavior afterwords?

I was also thinking of adding a town where the player character and squad can go to where you can work for the training faction in which they'll put you to work in fields to grow wheat and have you run around with a large traders backpack to take their items to other towns to sell and bring back to them. adding in dummies.

Later on maybe adding new animated fighting styles depending on how hard it is to convert animations from blender or 3D max into the games profile. that the trainer can teach the player character and squad. I would also like to do this for martial arts when it comes.

About the blunt weapon I'll see what I can do but I've never had much luck with meshing. I can make the design but blender (which is what I use most of the time) doesn't seem to render the mesh into the video game. I've had this problem with elder scrolls games which is why I haven't release anything for them.

I couldn't find the files needed to make Blender export ogre .meshes,
ended up using MilkShape, works great.
Just started learning it, making that mesh was much easier than expected and got it functional.
