Hello!

I just have a few questions regarding my attempts to modify kenshi.

First of all, i have been trying to change the name of the quality of the weapons. Like Edge Type 1, Catan oo3 and such. Just trying to clear up in the quality and such. For me it seems alittle bit messy with alot of names instead of just having tiers and quality. Where Edge type 1 becomes Tier IV Normal Quality.

But when i change the names with my own mod loaded, there is just nothing happening. I make the changes, saves the mod a couple of times. But when i reopen it. The changes are not there. I tried to make the changes with only the default data loaded, then it managed to save it selv. Just curious if anyone know the reason why the mod file dont want to save these changes.

My second question is regarding armor and research. I have enabled some of the missing armors, like drifters jacked, pants and boots. These are working as intended. But my issue is with adding samurai armor to be crafted. I can unlock it without a problem, i just make it researchable without a blueprint. But then i can only research it through the "core" tab. And i cannot research beyond prototype quality. I have added all samurai armor pieces into one research, dont know if this might effect it. Also have the same issue with the blackened chain armor.

Do i need to get these items through a blueprint in order to upgrade them? And then comes another question. Where to find such blueprints in the editor? I know about the research tab, but none of the blueprints one can find and upgrade is there. Like merc plate, helmets and such. There is not possible to edit those things maybe?

Also have a question regarding "new weapons" I made my self some practice weapons, i managed to capture a few mercs, made an imprisoned arena. Equip them and my own guys with the practise weapons, does almost no damage to eachother. And just let them have at it. But the inventory icon of these items are red. Like the Medium merc armor. You can see the icon, but it's like covered in red.

My apologizes for any bad wording and sentences. But i hope you understand my issues.

I think you will find the names in regards to the weapons that your on about are hard coded, therefore cannot be changed. These are in relation to the manufacturer company and the weapons quality level. Changing these in any way would remove any variance in weapon grade. Each company has different levels quality in their work. One company may produce a tier 1 Nodachi that offers +2 to attack and -3 to defence that does reasonable damage. Where as a different company would use different methods to make the same blade and have it result in the same sword yet offer +4 to attack and -2 to defence. That same sword may not offer as much damage but may be lighter, offering better and faster blocking ability but slower attack speed.
To remove this would be like saying only one compny has a monopoly on weapon making. Every Katana would be the same as the other, and so on.

In regards to the armour.... remember how this game is still being created.... well, did you think that maybe the aspect of making 'better' level armours will be added later. I just make the standard lot it allows and sell it all for the money needed to buy the better quality.

About your mods, dissapearing- it happens to me too, when i changed route to the new textures, sometimes, game would use the old route, even though everything was saved in CS. My solution was to rewrite the same texture file..

As for changing values in CS. i had to circumvent the same issue by creating a brand new weapon. (which i know is not much help when you want to mod weapons in general).
