i made a custom unit and form it into squad setting, but it just never spawn in the game, any idea?

Can you tell us all the steps you took?

Things wont spawn unless you use the level editor to attach them to buildings OR have them spawn in the desert.

To get them to spawn in the desert you have to select which zone.
In the 'Map Area' section, you will see the different zones, and from there you can add squads to spawn in them.

SO how to make them spawn from desert????
There are no zone i would choose from Shift+F12

To make squads spawn simply go to the "map areas" menu in the Forgotten Construction Set, and then add a new "spawn", select the squad you made and then change the first value to reflect how many there should spawn.

There are three zones atm, "UC West" "UC East" and "Northern Desert". I'm not 100% sure where one zone ends and the next begins, so you either put your spawn in every zone (and you can encounter your squad in every location), or you experiment a bit and find out.

Ah, my bad, I wasn't clear. But ArcaneSaint got it right. As for the zone maps, there was an image for them somewhere. Oddly enough, the northern desert was the bottom right side of the map I believe <_<

I know nothing of modding I envy everyone on this thread.

So I created my own NPC, put them in a squad, & set them to spawn in every zone of the desert but even with them as the only NPCs spawning in the desert they don't show up. I just have an empty desert, I'm supremely new to modding in general, and this game. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So far I've been able to change Number of squads, number of NPCs in the squad, where the squad spawns, stats of the squad, items of the squad. But I am only able to do this to existing squads and NPCs so far I have been unsuccessful in having my created NPC and Squad showing up in the desert.

I'm thinking there's an easy fix to this and I'm simply missing a step or 2. Thanks in advance !

Did you make sure to change their spawn probability from 0 to 1 or above? If it's zero they won't spawn even if they're the only squad on the spawn list.

Tried all sorts of numbers, at first it was 4 then 20 and after that I deleted every other spawn except them with 50 and still nothing.

Hmm...Well I'm not sure. Did you attach your custom squad to a faction? I believe they have to be set under a faction before they spawn. If you could upload your .mod file I could take a more direct look and see what's up.

Thank you, lol that was the problem. Knew it was something I was overlooking, thanks for the quick responses really appreciate it.
