"Evaluation Version"

I bought the game, and I've entered my key exactly as it was in the e-Mail I received. I got the pop up saying "Key is valid and has been stored" However, every time I start up the game, I still get the window informing me that I am playing the Evaluation Version, telling me what I can't do, and that I need to wait to click "OK"
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this same issue, or if I'm just missing something painfully obvious.
Whatever the case, any helpful input on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Is it only the message that appears and the game itself is working fine, or do you actually encounter these limits there?

I am not a clever man, and I apparently have a slight tendency to jump to conclusions. I've been doing everything I can think of to play without having the Evaluation message show up, but I didn't actually try checking in the game to see if It had worked. Sorry about that.

Uh-oh. When I tried and was able to hire a follower, I had re-entered my activation code. But For some reason, if I try to play it and I didn't enter the code on startup, I get an error when trying to hire people. I'm going to try reinstalling it, to see if that makes a difference.

so it works, but its not storing your code then?

As far as I can tell, yes. I get a message telling me that the code was stored, and I can play the game like it was, but it doesn't seem to actually be happening; when I restart the game, it's back to the evaluation.

apparently its related to your anti-virus settings, preventing the game from writing to the registry. Have a look around the settings and see if you have any luck.

Alright, I'm looking into that. Thanks for taking the time to try and help out!

Not a problem. If you find a solution, post it here for other people who have problems. If you can't fix it, let me know.

So far, I've been unable to find a way to keep the Evaluation Version message from showing up, but if I load my game without re-entering my code, I can still control the followers I've hired. I'm not sure what will happen if any of my skills go past 20, and I probably won't for a while, but I'd like to find out what's causing this before then. I'm using AVG antivirus, and my friend is too, but he isn't having any sort of issue with this, so I'm not sure whether that's part of the issue. I'm going to try to look more into this tomorrow to see if I can find some sort of answers.

The new update is out, run kenshi, install the new update, and see if it works now

You are an amazing person. Barely 6 hours after I ask for help with a problem, and you've already fixed it. Thank you very much for showing this level of interest in my problem, and letting me know when you had a fix ready.
Everything seems to be in working order now, so again, thank you.
(Although, I feel that I should mention, to update the client, I had to run wyUpdate from the kenshi folder on my C drive; if I just ran Kenshi, the update ended prematurely when the Evaluation version window opened. I doubt that this will be a personal issue now that it's stopped opening for me, but that seems like something that would bug people playing the demo.)

The update worked fine for me and I am still on the demo. As such, whatever issue was causing your problem was probably also causing the issue with the download. In other words, the problem should be solved in full.
