Silenthill Said Yes I do get games about a year after there released, $60 or $2-$10 is an easy choice for me.

Same here, why pay so much for a future bargain deal. Black ops interestingly enough was out for like a year and a half and is still $60 on steam. (I lost interest in call of duty after the second one, but I found that price weird.)
Gusmil said: Also As you own Playstation 2, try get your hands on Shinobi, I enjoyed that game very much.

I looked it up, and for a ps2 game it looks like you can do alot (I see some cool features, also is it a conspiracy game (Those always become interesting).

its way addicting and hard.

not to be confused with Rome Total War that, historically, was inaccurate. thanks to the mod team for RTR! :D

its the only RTS besides, warzone that really kept me entertained and immersed for hours and hours...
This reply is a bit late but have you checked out Europa Barbarorum? Its a mod for RTW as well and I feel that it does a better job than RTR. At least from when I last played RTR, which was some time ago.

They have stopped making EB (Europa Barbarorum) now and have moved onto EB2 which will be a mod for Medieval 2 Total War. Not released yet. But I highly recommend you try EB. At the very least Check out their official site and forums.
http://www.europabarbarorum.com

The forums link off that site. Its a damn fine mod in my opinion.

RTR just released the final product--RTR VII

since modding is easy and they supposedly never conflict i should try it out.

I've been playing it a little these days, and I really want to like it, 'cause I love the whole crafting scene, but it does feel rather bland, as others said.

Personally I'm mostly playing Crusader Kings 2 and Diablo 2, waiting for D3, and then occasionally Warcraft 3 over LAN at school. It's not that I'm particularly looking forward to D3, I think Blizzard are going to make too much of a money-machine out of it, but I'm hoping to at least get some entertainment out of it.

Then I wanted to pitch in on the EA-hate, 'cause I'm really feeling that too. Towards Bioware too. They've been going steadily down a hole for a while, but I love/loved some of their older stuff, KotOR, Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights in particular.
Life is a joke, but why does that have to be a bad thing?

You ever tried Torchlight? :3 Bet Torchlight 2 will come out before diablo 3, but it's a race against time (especially as noone want to lose to the other in quallity or release date)... *grin*

And yes Bioware, Ea Hell even Ubisoft once in a ancient time were great, But they grown fat and lazy and want more dough for bread crumbs that they used to price an entire bread for.
But also I think games is more expensive to make nowday than back in the old days, cheapest is still the fps though...

I did try it once, but I couldn't really get into it. It felt rather meh, so I gave up on it. :/

I do not like EA any more, they killed off good devs like Westwood studios.

Is Crusader Kings 2 any good?

I've only played Single Player myself, but I like that part quite a bit. It does feel a little like there's something missing, but it's possibly just my preferences that go in a slightly different direction. I'm looking forward to Magna Mundi which will hopefully leave me with many sleepless nights.

well its to be released in two months, however i saw the 59.99 price and went

so i will not be buying it. 60 bucks for a game is, quite honestly, ridiculous.
TL 2 will be 20 and have loads of content and hours of game play... ill stick with that (even though im not a big fan of guns and techy stuff.)

$60 is almost graphic card money, its already DDRII money. Also another reason why I started playing indie games (Besides supporting games made by gamers) I am very cheap.(Bargin-bin cheap)

I have my eye on Arma III (To be released this july) :D

And Risen II (To be relesed in...April?) :D (nautilus power! )

exactly my reaction....
I was reading something about console rpg and they put an example of 3d graphic rpg (with a link to diablo3) and when i saw that price omg
I'm a big fan and was waiting for d3 with much anticipation but that's one i won't be willing to buy. I'll wait a year for the price to go down

Age of Empires 2 was way better. It's considered by most who played the whole series as the epidome of real-time strategy as it should always be. (if you had the CD ;) )

Aoe3 did some drastic changes but it did keep a little of that nice feeling you get when playing aoe1&2, all in all the game still felt good....

But for me (who played every aoe+extension) nothing compares to aoe2(plus conquerors exp.). You can still play it easily over internet using some programs like gameranger (making it possible to have guilds, teams, friend games over internet without the whole "whats-your-ip?-hassle") and other such nice software.

I have a supreme commander dvd from a cousin but i think it's a stand alone extension, so i never understood the story lol and haven't played it a lot.

Ultimately it came down to the maps and campaign to me when it came to whether AoE2 was better or worse than AoE3. The maps and campaigns are just so much better and more fun.
But really I'm an AoM kinda guy.
