So I was going through kickstarter and noticed FTL (Faster Than Light) So then I went on youtube to see more about it. Since usually you can find pretty good vids about these games (especially since they succeeded with their kickstarter)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-SnIhpCm5w
Needless to say the guy is right. Although saying it is a Nerding Out Simulator would probably be more accurate
So what do you think of this game guys? Seems like a REALLY great game and I know I would really love to play it. But like the guy said, it could use a lot more micromanagement to make it a better nerding out simulator. And I am pretty sure if I show this to my friend he will jizz in his pants... Ye I think I will email it to him not go to his house and tell him... Just to be safe...
Here is a link to their website btw
http://www.ftlgame.com/
And their kickstarter
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/644 ... than-light
In case you will be interested in checking these out.
EDIT: In case you are wondering. 14th September is when it is released.

Got bored. Saw things like this. made my own.

Yeah you should. It really looks like a game worth checking out. Not to mention everything that is in the game. Is done right. At least from what I can see.

This type of games are becoming famous, i think Notch's new game is going to be exactly like this, and this game Star Commands its like that too. having a space ship and controlling it with a crew and fires, and oxygen and stuff. its cool man.
Note : Im not saying people are making ripoffs or something. im just saying that this genre is becoming popular, thats it

This genre becoming popular. To be honest I have much older friends who have wanted such a game for 20-25 years but no one made one. So saying it is becoming popular is not really accurate. Saying that some body is FINALLY answering popular demand however. Is pretty accurate

Wow, looks fun. i was a little sceptical at first but the TB video was very compelling. If the price is right I will definitely get this.

Same it made me really want the game. I also watched some other videos. Like Nerd Cubed to see if it is only enjoyable in TBs videos. And that just made me want the game more. But I guess the issue is with the price. If it is 5-10 euro then the price is defiantly right. But I guess 15 is also a fine price for this game.
Although I don't suggest watching more videos of this game. They will just make you want to hurry up and get this game released so you can finally play it

This is one of those games I just cant wait for. Curse my curiosity

There is no mention of this game on steam in the upcoming games list. Where can I buy it from?

Its not on steam. Sadly. Although I doubt they wont put it on steam once the game is released. I guess all you have to do is wait for the 14th and see.
Heard you can buy it on GOG.COM once it comes out and get a Steam key for it. So I guess that means the game will be on Steam.

Yeah it sure does. If steam doesn't accept this game when they ask to be on Steam. Then something is seriously wrong with Valve.

Like what happened to Minecraft at first. But you know what I hate the most? Minecraft doesn't have bad graphics actually they are great. Why? Because it is the developers choice to use this GRAPHICAL STYLE for his game. If you use cell shaded graphics will people bit*h to you that the graphics are BAD. Why does everything have to be super realistic these days? You people do know that you can have a MASSIVE variety of different graphical styles but all we use is the same boring old realistic... Where did graphical innovation go...

Cool website. Also, oddly, when i click the link from that site it takes me to gog. When I use my favourites bar or type it in manually it comes up with
Code: Select all
This webpage is not available
The connection to www.gog.com was interrupted.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the wrench menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.

Try using another browser. If that doesn't work maybe it is blocked on your modem (which I doubt) otherwise I usually turn my modem off when it does something stupid. Sometimes I turn it off for an hour so it doesn't do that (I always turn it off when I go to bed. Works better that way for some reason),

GoG = Good old Games.
Gog.com
Its like steam but it sells old games as well and has no DRM which steam sometimes has (I don't use steam to buy games so I don't know!)
As for Gog not working... Really strange. Well the game will be released on the 14th so you have time I guess.
EDIT: If it doesn't work I could buy you the game with your account. Although I guess it is not a really good idea to give passwords etc to a stranger

So I suggest you go over to a friends house once it comes out. Or ask a trusted friend to buy it.

Good Old Games.
Most of them are redone to work on modern systems. I've bought a few of the old classics that I no longer am able to get working on my modern systems. I got geneforge there, alpha centauri, aquanox, constructor and a few others. Most of these are fairly old. (constructor was my second game ever).
EDIT: Man, you beat me to the posting. Mad skillzzz bra!
